Mining, Oberösterreich
Mining is a small community in the Innviertel region of Upper Austria. The Notgeld issue featured here has an XVIII. century engraving of the palace of Mamling. On the map above, Mamling is up the road from Mining about a mile or so; Mamling is a little higher in elevation but has a much smaller population. The printer of this Notgeld series is Leopold Heglinger of Braunau am Inn, the border town made famous by the birth of Adolf Hitler in 1889.
