Waschpoint is a small village, part of the community of Pupping in Upper Austria. These days, its made up of two neat rows and one circle of houses, but in the 1800s, Waschpoint was referred to as a "Haus," not even a village. Perhaps the land was owned and operated by a single family. The nearest big town, Eferding, is only a few kilometers away. Waschpoint's special Notgeld series is unknown, reported back in the 1920s by Kunz, but not seen since. Perhaps the issue seen here is ungenuine. It is printed on heavy stock card. Apparently, denominations are 50, 60, 75, and 90 Heller, and all carry the designation "IV. Spezial-Auflage" on them. |
