PLAN Vegetable farming program in Laho's community
This year's report says that Laho has been a healthy boy!  He continues to do well in school and wants to be a teacher.  His older brother Guri must also be doing well in school, because from now on he, not the community volunteer, will be writing to us on Laho's behalf!

Letters From Nepal
Namaste! & Lots of rememberance from your sponsored child Laho and his family.
With your and kind God's blessing, your sponsored child Laho and his family are fine over here.  They hope that you are also fine over there.
Laho and his family became very happy to receive the letter, photos, note pad, Gel Pens, card, picture and shirt that you have sent for him.  The summer season has started over here.  Here, wind blows for whole day long.  Laho's examination is going to finish.  Now, their main festival Holi is coming near.  This festival is celebrated by spraying different colours and powder onto each other.  I am a community volunteer writing this letter on behalf of your sponsored child.
Lastly, Laho and his family would like to express their best wishes for your long life and further progress on the occasion of Happy New Year 2069 and Holi festival.  Hoping that this relaionship with you will continue in the the future, they would like to say good-bye.

Namaste!
We all family members are fine.  My younger brother Laho and I hope that you are also fine there.  My younger brother Laho is not able to write letters himself.  So I am his elder brother writing this letter to you.  My younger brother Laho and we all family members are very happy having received the card, toy motor and drawing hat you had sent.  We all would like to thank you very much for that.  Plan has implemented chicken raising program and safe drinking water program in our community.  These programs have helped us very much.  Plan has also constructed school building and provided stationary materials to the students.  These days the climate here in our place is very hot.  How is the climate there in your place?  Please, do write about this in your next letter.  Ok this much for now.  Lastly, hoping for the continuation of this correspondance we all family members would like to say goodbye for now.  Thank you.

Namaste!
Your sponsored child Laho and my family members are all fine over here.  We hope that you are also fine over there.
It becomes very hot over here.  Rain has not fallen over here.  Your sponsored child Laho and my family received the inflatable globe you had sent for Laho.  We would all like to thank you a lot for that... Now, Laho has gone to maternal uncle's house because his school has been closed for monsoon vacation.  What do you do there?  You send many gifts to my younger brother and he likes these gifts very much.  OK this much for now.  They would like to say you good bye.

Dear John and Erika Slivka,
Namaste!
My younger brother Laho Prasad and we all family members are fine here.  We hope to hear about your fineness over there....  The photos you had sent were very beautiful.  The photos here in our country do not match the standards of your country.  In the camera you had sent I have taken picture of our house.  Mine eldest brother has gone to maternal uncle's house for 15 days.  So I could not take the picture of the whole family.  I have taken the picture of four members of our family In thr group photo you can see Laho, mother, father, and youngest brother.  I am not in that picture.  Mine photo was taken in front of a small range post office here in our community.  At first I could not take pictures with that camera.  Later on Plan's community volunteer Khemka taught me how to handle that camera.  After that only I could take pictures with that camera.  How I have done I don't know.
I work as a kitchen boy in the range post.  My mother does household works and my father is very old.  Her herds goats that we have.  My younger brother attends school and small brother attends early childhood care development centre (ECCD) supported by Plan. My elder brother helps in household works.  We know you both John and Erika but who is Slivka?  Your relative?  Do write about it in your next letter.  Therse days the climate here in our place is fine.  How is the climate in your place?  Do write about it also.  Although we are Tharu we can speak Nepali language.  From our grandfather's time we have been following the ancient customs.  They all respect our religion and cultures.  Our religion is Hindu.  Our important festivals are Dashain and Tihar.  In these festivals we play swings, eat delicious food.  In Tihar we sing traditional festival songs, wear new clothes, make delicious foods to eat, put Tika (red mark on the forehead), wear garlands.  Different types of beautiful natural flowers are found here in our place.  This much for now I will write more in the next letter.  OK Bye bye.
