The Right of the Child to Education:
Aimie was provided with books in English, Pilipino, Science amd Technology, Social Studies, Home Economics, and Values Education.  She also received school bags, notebooks,  paper and other school materials.  Textbook ratio at her school was improved from 1:5 to 1:3 students.  The schools were provided with library and science equipment.  The community's high school benefited from a new facility to teach vocational and technical subjects and equipment was donated for sewing, baking, welding, carpentry, electricity, and steel works.  Fences were constructed around both schools for added security and for noise reduction.  Playgrounds and gardens were set up inside the walls.

Promotion of the Rights of the Child:
"
PLAN Metro Manilla used creative promotional materials such as T-Shirts, posters and theater arts.  Children were organized to make them more aware, confidant and skillful in asserting their rights.  They were also encouraged to attend consultation workshops and training on children's issues.  Children also participated in PLAN initiated activities such as Fun Day, sports fest, field trips, children congresses and summer camps.  In support of Child's Right promotion, PLAN Metro Manilla has undertaken series of seminars for parents such as Family Life Enhancement Seminars, Parent-Child Dialogue and Effective Family Counseling for Community Leaders and Health Workers."

Health Issues:
"Community Health Workers were also trained to ensure sustainablity of delivery of health services in (the area).   The newly constructed Lying-In Clinic can now support the delivery of health services of the Health Centers.  The clinic was built to provide effective and efficient services to high risk pregnancies within the community.  Potable water tank built by PLAN helped the access and affordability of potable water and prevent water borne diseases.  Today, most of the families in the community have convenient access to potable water either in their homes, yard or fetched from a neighbor's faucets.  The convenient availability of water has contributed to the use of sealed toilets."
