BEATLES NOVELTIES.
GARRY FERRIER.
RINGO-DEER.

CANADA, 1964

CAPITOL RECORDS 72202

1- RINGO-DEER

2- JUST MY LUCK

Capitol of Canada issued this Beatles novelty tune unique to the Canadian Market.
"RINGO-DEER" was issued for the 1964 Christmas season, and it was the Ferrier's second solo single, which went Top-10 in December 1964.
This Christmas song informed that Santa had a swinging new reindeer that didn't have antlers but rather had Beatle hair and had a big nose as Ringo Starr.
His name was Ringo-Deer and He would lead Santa's sleigh this year.
Ferrier was also part of the monster publicity and promotion campaign by CHUM when the Beatles came to Toronto in 1965 and 1966.

There were more than 50 tribute records about Ringo, including "Ringo Beat" by Ella Fitzgerald, "Santa, bring me Ringo" by Christine Hunter, "Like Ringo " by Dick Lord, "What's Wrong With Ringo?" by the Bon Tons (who later changed their name to the Shangri La's), "Ringo For President" by Rolf Harris, "Ringo For President" by The Young World Singers, "Ringo Did It" by Veronica Lee, A Tribute to Ringo Starr by Larry Finnegan, I want to Kiss Ringo Goodbye by Penny Valentine, Ringo's Revenge by Robin Garret, "Bingo Ringo" by Daws Butler (the voice of Hanna Barbera's Huckleberry Hound), Treat him Tender, Maureen (Now That Ringo Belongs To You) by Angie & The Chicklettes and this Ringo-Deer by Garry Ferrier.
