Son and grandson of actors, he started in theatre and then passed to movies, when signed up with METRO in 1942. Of his first age, outstanding films are Since You Went Away (J. Cromwell), The 3 Musketeers (G. Sidney) and Neptune´s Daughter (E. Buzzell). Other big titles were Some Came Running (V. Minnelli), Dr. Strangelove (S. Kubrick), Finian´s Rainbow (F.F. Coppola) and Once Upon A Time In The West (S. Leone). KEENAN WYNN died on October 14, 1986.
Born on May 30, 1940 in ORANGE, New Jersey, he started working as an actor on the daytime soaps THE SECRET STORM and ANOTHER WORLD. Then he was hired for both telemovies and mini-series and, finally, came the two-parter of DALLAS, REUNION. GARY´s first performer refused to play the character on the DALLAS´s spin-off, in which GARY would be one of the protagonists. Later on he resumed his usual workline with mini-series like WOMEN IN WHITE, LITTLE WOMEN, THE WINDMILLS OF THE GODS, THE BARBARA HUTTON STORY or sequel AFTER M*A*S*H.
Ironically, he also gueststarred on one episode of KNOTS LANDING, starring the actor who replaced him as GARY. He has also been seen on other shows like DYNASTY, ST. BOGDANOVICH. This was one of the reasons she refused a new contract to play on KRISTIN on Season 2 of DALLAS. She had began to work as a child actor at 3, being discovered on the DEAN MARTIN SHOW.
She debuted in movies with BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES (J.L. Thompson) and followed a big number of films, such as Parts 2 and 4 of POLICE ACADEMY, WICKED STEPMOTHER (L. Cohen, co-starring B. CARRERA and BETTE DAVIS), WAYNE´S WORLD (P. Spheeris), SLIVER (P. Noyce, with SHARON STONE), LAST ACTION HERO and Part 3 of DIE HARD (Die Hard With A Vengeance), both directed by J. McTiernan. LAWYER ALAN BEAM´S PERFORMER on Season 2 of DALLAS was born on April 14, 1950 in IOWA CITY, Iowa. First credited as RANDY POWELL, he gueststarred on shows like BARNABY JONES, HARRY O, CANNON, McCLOUD, 8 IS ENOUGH, FANTASY ISLAND, VEGA$, or regularly on the LOGAN´S RUN TV Version. In 1979 he joined the DALLAS´s cast and became one of the suspects of shooting J.R. at the end of that TV season. In 1983 he returned to the Soap World, now on daytime, starring on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. His last film, shot in 1999, is entitled THE DEFORMATION OF MYRNA BROWN.
Actor JARED MARTIN played STEVEN “DUSTY” FARLOW on a regular basis on Seasons 2, 4 and 8, though he also appeared other times. Born in QUEENS, N.Y., on December 21, 1943, from Italian-Scotch parents, he studied piano and Drama since 12 years old and, later on, became a graduate from the COLUMBIA University, where he would be a roommate of someone who should specialized in suspense movies years later: BRIAN DE PALMA.
After starring in some of his shorts, went on the local theatre and, one night, he was discovered for BROADWAY by prestiged JOE PAPP. When moved to HOLLYWOOD, he played on series like LOS PATRULLEROS, FANTASTIC JOURNEY and LOGAN´S RUN, where he met RANDOLPH POWELL (ALAN BEAM on DALLAS). MARTIN was the one who got more famous as cowboy DUSTY. In the last decade he has only appeared on the show SILK STALKINGS and in the film TWIN SITTERS. Since 1994, he is devoted to teaching CINEMATOGRAPHY to High School alumni in PHILADELPHIA.
FERN FITZGERALD came from the BROADWAY stages, where she had performed different roles in well-known musicals. However she had rather hard professional beginnings. After graduating she got jobs as a recepcionist, waitress and PR during 8 years. In 1976, she was offered the role of KITTY in the musical CHICAGO and, after that, another part in A CHORUS LINE.
These experiences served her to introduce herself into the TV business and appeared on the Season 1 of DALLAS, in a brief role that was extended to the rest of the series, though not fully developed until Season 4. Since then MARILEE stayed at a discreet background, but that did not stop her to show her sense of humor off playing MARILEE. After DALLAS, she gueststarred on shows like LIFE GOES ON and SEINFELD.
Son of an actor and a teacher, LEIGH McCLOSKEY came to the world on June 21, 1955 in SANTA MONICA, California. She studied at N.Y.´s JULLIARD SCHOOL, with such well-known actors like CHRISTOPHER REEVE and ROBIN WILLIAMS, and they played together on montages of such plays as WHO´S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?. He was ultimately discovered by an agent in the elevator of a HOLLYWOOD hotel, and guesstarred on Part 2 of RICH MAN, POOR MAN; MEDICAL CENTER and THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO.
In 1976 he was cast as the prodigal son of the WALLING family on the show EXECUTIVE SUITE and, 4 years later, signed a 2-year contract to portray MITCH COOPER on DALLAS. Once his role was written out, he briefly re-appeared twice and, since 1988, has been regularly working especially on DAYTIME soaps like SANTA BARBARA, GENERAL HOSPITAL, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS or ONE LIFE TO LIVE. He has also participated in shows of other genres like CHICAGO HOPE, STAR TREK: VOYAGER and ST: DS9, JAG, BABYLON 5 or BEVERLY HILLS 90210. Last year he played a detective in the mini-series GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN, with BROOKE SHIELDS.
The character of PAM´s mother, REBECCA BARNES WENTWORTH, first appeared in a flashback belonging to episode Jock´s Trial (Part 2). Then it was VICTORIA PRINCIPAL herself who played the role, since the event remembered had happened about 25 years before. When the writers decided to “resurrect” to REBECCA (presumedly dead by then), started a search an actress who could reassemble physically Victoria, as much as possible. Veteran supporting actress PRISCILLA POINTER, whose face structure looked very much like PAM´s performer, though with bright blue eyes, co-starred the episode THE PRODIGAL MOTHER. 9 weeks later she joined the regular cast of DALLAS, which would not leave until her character´s death in 1983.
Before to becoming popular as REBECCA, POINTER had been following a long acting career with supporting roles in big movies; e.g. she had been DIANE KEATON´s mother in LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR (R. Brooks) and had bits in 80´s´ cult movies like MOMMIE DEAREST (F. Perry) or BLUE VELVET (D. Lynch), apart from being remembered in film history as her own daughter (AMY IRVING)´s mother in movie CARRIE (B. de Palma). Since 1983, PRISCILLA has gueststarred on such quality shows as L.A. LAW, THE FLASH, E.R., PICKET FENCES or mini-series HEMINGWAY. She also worked for her then son-in-law STEVEN SPIELBERG in AMAZING STORIES and THE TWILIGHT ZONE. Her last role was played in 2006: she gueststarred in the series COLD CASE.
Along with her sister JUDY, she formed the duet THE LANDERS SISTERS, and the fame she gained with DALLAS was used to showcase her abilities through movies, especially in the film version of BROADWAY musical “A CHORUS LINE” (R. Attenborough). Since her last appearance as AFTON on J.R. Returns in 1996, she has only filmed one movie in GERMANY, where her records were quite successful, and devoted herself, together with her family, to the children´s show THE HUGABUG CLUB. Previously, AUDREY had participated in 90´s shows like MURDER SHE WROTE, THE COSBY HOUR or LOIS & CLARK. In 1997 she played a bit part in the US-Germany co-production LAST CHANCE LOVE. She has written, directed and starred in movie CIRCUS CAMP (2006).
Born as SUSAN CUPITO on December 5, 195l in HOLLYWOOD, MORGAN BRITTANY´s beginnings were the most promising: as a child, she co-starred on movies like GYPSY (M. LeRoy), YOURS, MINE AND OURS (M. Shavelson) or Hitchcock´s THE BIRDS. But when she was 14, her agent told her that could not do anything else for her. After a 7-year retirement on acting, at 21 started a new career as an actress and a model, and participated in a few shows. In 1976, she appeared personifying VIVIEN LEIGH in a sequence of GABLE & LOMBARD (S.J. Furie) and also in THE DAY OF THE LOCUST (J. Schlesinger). About 4 years later, impersonated the GONE WITH THE WIND´s heroine on mini-series MOVIOLA (episode The Scarlett O´Hara War).
Her eyes´ color was a decisive factor for the casting of MORGAN as KATHERINE, since she had to be believable as P. POINTER´s daughter on the show. After a regular stint on 7 episodes of Season 4, she signed up a contract to stay for 2 years. MORGAN was KATHERINE for the last time in 1987. Since then she has done onstage musicals and TV, above all. She played outstanding roles on GLITTER, MELROSE PLACE and the mini-series LBJ: THE EARLY YEARS, and single episodes of THE NANNY, SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH and MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN. Her last movie to date is AMERICANIZING SHELLEY, shot in 2007, along with guest appearances on the series DOC and a documentary for the dvd release of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
Al Just like SUSAN HOWARD and MORGAN FAIRCHILD, HOLLY HARWOOD´s performer in a Texas native, born on April 15, 1947. LOIS CHILES began her artistic career in 1973, with the movie THE WAY WE WERE (S. Pollack), in which she did not have a very long role but it allowed her to show her great looks. Followed supporting parts in THE GREAT GATSBY (J. Clayton), again with REDFORD, and DEATH ON THE NILE, where she was the first victim of the mysterious killer. Not long after, she became a Bond-girl in the film MOONRAKER, playing an ally of famous super-agent called HOLLY GOODHEAD. The DALLAS´s producers offered her the role of another HOLLY, this time HARWOOD, in 1982.
Afterwards she kept on playing, as well in movies as on TV and stage (in the CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF´s main role). Her most remarkable movies are SWEET LIBERTY (A. Alda), BROADCAST NEWS (J. L. Brooks), SPEED 2 (Jan de Bont) and a last-minute leftout CAMEO in AUSTIN POWERS (J. Roach). On TV she has gueststarred on MURDER SHE WROTE, IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, L.A. LAW and THE NANNY. Her last appearances were on the movie KETTLE OF FISH and the show CSI in 2005, and several Specials about JAMES BOND´s figure. Besides, she has been teaching acting at the HOUSTON University since 2001.
Born on November 3, 1959, TIMOTHY PATRICK MURPHY started off in show business at 13. At 18, he played on the show THE SEEKERS and later the producers tried to get his contract re-newed for the Season 2. But he felt typed by his character and did not accept to. Since then he starred in a few big-screen movies and several shows, the most famous of which was undoubtedly DALLAS.
He became one of the male guest stars on its Season 5 as MICKEY TROTTER, RAY´s cousin and LUCY´s boyfriend. After appearing in a few episodes of next season, he went on his acting career. MICHAEL LANDON gave him the main role in the movie SAM´S SON, for which he got the award for best revelation of the year. Besides he played a regular part on another TV production, GLITTER. However TIMOTHY´s career abruptly ended when he unexpectedly died of aids on February 6, 1988.
JOHN BECK
Born on January 28, 1943 in CHICAGO, JOHN BECK comes from a humble farming family and, since he was a kid, had to work hard to get ahead. When left college in 1965 to have a career, he took all kind of jobs to feed himself. Soon he got to work as a publicity model, which launched him to acting. At the beginning, he only got small roles in famous shows like F.B.I., BONANZA or MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, until came his co-starring part in the movie ROLLERBALL. His face became popular playing 2 similar roles in 2 different series: first he was constructor SAM CURTIS on FLAMINGO ROAD; when it ended, he debuted as MARK on Season 1982-3 of DALLAS.
Since his sudden disappearance al the end of Season 8 (which turned his comeback into part of a dream of PAM´s and his previous death into a fact), JOHN has continued working regularly as well in TV as in movies. Of the first, the main shows are MODELS INC., WALKER TEXAS RANGER, BAYWATCH, ST: DS9 or the remake of the comic-book adaptation SPIDER-MAN, where he dubbed PUNISHER. Nowadays he is shooting the movie CRASH LANDING, co-starring actor KEVIN DOBSON. His height (1, 85 m.), his tough-man look and his powerful personality allowed him to earn a strong reputation as a TV star.
MANDY WINGER, J.R.´s lover and candidate for being his wife, was played by DEBORAH SHELTON. She was born in NORFOLK, Virginia, on November 21, 1952. She came to the show after winning the MISS USA´70 contest, not long after her gueststarring on the series THE YELLOW ROSE and the movie BODY DOUBLE (B. de Palma), co-starring with an almost debutante Melanie Griffith. She remained about 3 years on DALLAS, first as CLIFF´s lover and then as J.R.´s passionate love.
When SUE ELLEN turned her into a sexy lingerie model, she sentenced this extramarital relationship. MANDY disappeared of J. R.´s life after swearing SUE ELLEN that she would return to get even on her and steal her husband away. Since her exit of the showe, DEBORAH´s career focused on low-budget sexy movies, as had happened to MANDY, and series like GET A LIFE, HIGH TIDE or MALIBU CA. Currenly, she splits her time between her family and the promotion of BEAUTY products. Her last movie is THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE and was shot in 2006.
She was lauched as an actress with her role as CINDY on THREE´S COMPANY and then followed her DALLAS co-starring role, until half Season 9. Not long after that, her character was killed off in a climbing accident. Since 1986 she has left out her acting job and only participated in some movies once in awhile, as now she is focused on the promotion of beauty products and her real estate properties. Her last film was THE REDEMPTION, shot in 2000.
DANA ANDREWS´s younger brother came to the world in HUNTSVILLE, Texas, on September 29, 1924. He participated in a lot of movies in the 50´s and 60´s, the most remarkable of them The Bad And The Beautiful (V. Minnelli) and So Big (R. Wise). His fame increased in the 70´s with the main role on the show S.W.A.T. His casting for the role of new JOCK EWING surprised everybody not only because he had been presumedly dead, but because he hardly looked like JIM DAVIS.
This character, first called BEN STIVERS and then WES PARMALEE, was the only one recycled after PAM´s dream, as the storyline of the return of presumed JOCK, amnesic and reconstructed by surgery, was repeated all over again. After 15 episodes, the old man left the same way he had come up, after causing chaos. However, behind that there was the actor´s interest in joining the sequel to GUNSMOKE, RETURN TO DODGE, and playing the character of WILL MANNON again. FORREST did a brief cameo in the recent movie version of S.W.A.T.
Born on N.Y.C. on November 10, 1952, this Italian-American actor made his debut on the series THE DEVLIN CONNECTION, as late ROCK HUDSON´s son. After a hard time due to drinking and drugs, JACK became SUE ELLEN´s new lover in 1987, playing NICHOLAS PEARCE, a mysterious business man keeping a secret identity: actually he was the son of a Mafia hood who went into the Witness Protection Program.
10 years younger than LINDA GRAY, this affair of J. R.´s wife was not so scandalous as the one she had with twentysomething CHRISTOPHER ATKINS. JACK spent one year on the show, until that, in the Cliffhanger scene, J. R. and he began to fight and NICHOLAS fell down the balcony. This was the end of his character on DALLAS. SCALIA has continued acting on series and TVM´s, such as WOLF, TEQUILA & BONETTI, and a special appearance on the DALLAS´s very last episode. Recently he played CHRIS on the daytime soap ALL MY CHILDREN, co-starred in the sequel to the mini-series HOLLYWOOD WIVES and one episode of McBRIDE. He also has 2 films at the theatres: END GAME and THE GENIUS CLUB.
KIMBERLY CRYDER´s performer was born in WASHINGTON D.C. on January 25, 1952. Launched as a famous actress thanks to her role as a farmer on the show PEYTON PLACE and her 20-year-long marriage to RYAN O´NEAL, LEIGH was one of the main assets of Season 10 of DALLAS: the wife of one of J. R.´s rivals, she tried to make him divorce SUE ELLEN and marry her...and her WESTSTAR OIL share stock.
The actress had already starred in films like THE BIG BOUNCE (A. March), JAGGED EDGE (R. Marquand) or CAN´T STOP THE MUSIC (N. Walker). REBECCA DE MORNAY´s current mother-in-law pursued her TV career successfully. with an outstanding role on PICKET FENCES as RACHEL HARRIS, awarded with an EMMY for best supporting actress in a comedy. Likewise she has gueststarred ib series such as EMPTY NEST, BEVERLY HILLS 90210 or ST: DS 9, besides of the soap opera SUNSET BEACH or the TV sequel of THE ADAMS FAMILY. Her last big-screen films are SPIRITUAL WARRIORS and DIRTY LAUNDRY, released in 2006. She currently plays KATHERINE CRANE on the daytime soap PASSIONS.
SUSAN LUCCI is the best-paid daytime soap star, but needed 19 nominations to get the desired EMMY award. Graduated at N.Y.´s Marymount College, participated in the ED SULLIVAN Show and some movies like ME, NATALIE (F. Coe) and GOODBYE COLUMBUS (L. Peerce). In 1970, at 20 years old, she got the role of teenager ERICA KANE on daytime soap ALL MY CHILDREN.
Her part on the last Season of DALLAS turned her into a mystery woman, first named SHEILA FOLEY, a tourist who kidnapped APRIL, and then as HILLARY TAYLOR, the woman who had been posing as SHEILA, member of a dangerous terrorist organization who, after losing everything in Texas, plotted a plan to revolution the international oil market and went to Paris to execute it with her henchmen. Her character was killed just at the SOUTHFORK back entrance, when APRIL´s sister took revenge shooting her to death. After causing such a havoc on DALLAS, LUCCI returned to PINE VALLEY and the local schemes on ALL MY CHILDREN.

Also known is the fact that ROBERT FOXWORTH (CHASE ON "FALCON CREST") REJECTED J.R.´S ROLE FOR HIS EVILNESS. Both series also shared writers and directors, but in this case the competence was harder.
CAMILLE MARCHETTA (who created the characters of JENNA and KRISTIN) would soon be hired by DYNASTY´s producers and so would another DALLAS´s writer, DAVID PAULSEN, responsible for the last season of the CARRINGTONS´ show.
Later on producer AARON SPELLING, THE ALMA MATER OF TV GLITZ IN THE 80´S AND THE TEEN SPLENDOR IN THE 90´S, tried to channel the fame of the DALLAS´s STAR SYSTEM, attracting to his shows the likes of LINDA GRAY (MELROSE PLACE and MODELS, INC.), VICTORIA PRINCIPAL (TITANS), MORGAN BRITTANY (GLITTER and MP), JOHN BECK (MODELS, INC.) and, from KNOTS LANDING, TED SHACKELFORD (SAVANNAH) and DONNA MILLS (MP), hardly successfully in most cases.
