HOT CHOCOLATE BAND SINGLES.
APPLE RECORDS

Errol Brown, from Jamaica, was the voice of Hot Chocolate. In 1969 while demoing a slight reggae version of the John Lennon song GIVE PEACE A CHANCE with a group of friends, Errol Brown changed the lyrics of the number but he was informed that he could not change Lennon's song without his permission. So a copy of the demo was sent to the Beatles Apple Record label with fingers crossed.
Amazingly John Lennon loved the version and they decided to release it on the Apple label.
A secretary in the Apple office didn't know what name to put on the label so she made up The Hot Chocolate Band, probably during her morning tea break. The band later shortened to 'Hot Chocolate'.
