Ian Crawford Clews (vocals), Neil McCormick (guitar), Colin Hunter Morrison (guitar), Ronnie Leahy (organ) and Timi Donald (drums) were originally known as the Pathfinders and as such became one of Glasgow's most exciting and popular groups. Former Poets' guitarist Fraser Watson replaced McCormick in 1967 and the following year the band was signed to the Apple label.
The quintet was dubbed White Trash prior to the release of their debut single, which was produced by ex-Shadows' drummer Tony Meehan.
"Road To Nowhere' had been a staple part of the Pathfinders" live set and this gripping performance displayed their awesome power.
The "White" prefix was quickly dropped in the wake of BBC discomfort but although a cover of the Beatles' song "Golden Slumbers" gave the group a minor hit, they grew disillusioned with what was perceived as Apple's disinterest.
Having served as a backing band to singer Marsha Hunt, Trash split up in 1970 without realizing their potential, although Donald later forged a successful career as a session musician.
