SHATTERED DREAMS





YEAR SEVEN (AIRED ON 1984-85 SEASON):

The main titles are partially renewed, with BARBARA BEL GEDDES missing for health reasons and replaced by DONNA REED as MISS ELLIE from episode 7 on. Also added to the “starring” titles are some of the guest stars of previous seasons, like HOWARD KEEL and PRISCILLA PRESLEY, credited as BEAULIEU again, but featured between KERCHEVAL and PRINCIPAL.

The “also starring” actors for most of the 30 episodes are DEBORAH SHELTON (Mandy Winger since episode 3) and JENILEE HARRISON (Jamie Ewing) from 4th on. AUDREY LANDERS only appears in the first one, and MORGAN BRITTANY exits on the fourth, and will come back, pregnant in real life, for the last two.

AFTON finds BOBBY´s body at J.R.´s office, hit by several gunshots. Later on, he will explain that he was sitting at J.R.´s chair to check out if his phone had been bugged too. Meanwhile, CLIFF, who was almost broke, has found oil at the Gulf of Mexico, and MARILEE tries desperately to make up with him...

SUE ELLEN has returned to the marital bed to accomplish her duties as a wife, though she has hidden a gun. KATHERINE is buying her mother´s old HOUSTON manor when she gets quite a shock to know that BOBBY is not dead...


CLIFF is suspect of having shot BOBBY, though he doesn´t remember anything at all because he was drunk...
“I think you went to the EWING Offices to kill J.R. and you shot BOBBY by mistake.” - AFTON confesses before leaving him for good. Besides, it was her who phoned J.R. before the attempt to know if he was in the office. “I hope you didn´t tell the police this crazy story, I could be in a lot of trouble...” – he answers.

At the hospital, BOBBY comes to and realizes that he cannot see. The doctor tells him that is has been caused by the bullet that hit, but they don´t still know if the blindness will be permanent.


PAMELA rushes back to DALLAS with her son when she gets the news, and is disappointed to see JENNA taking care of BOBBY at the hospital. Meanwhile, J.R.´s frustrated killer is still at large...

2/163: “BATTLE LINES”

J.R. is removing heaven and earth to find out who shot BOBBY. But it is hard to know because all of his enemies and possible suspects, seem to have perfect alibis. BOBBY asks DONNA to replace him at EWING OIL temporarily, after they confirm that J.R. had bugged his phone. “Don´t get too comfortable in BOBBY´s chair, you´re not going to be there long, darlin´...” - J.R. warns.

“I'm sorry Bobby got shot too, even if he is a Ewing – CLIFF tells his sister - Been a lot better if it was J.R. Hey, don't be hypocritical! Who would have mourned him except his mother...Maybe.” At the same time, BOBBY tells JENNA they cannot marry her until he gets his sight back. However, the who shot BOBBY question seems to be solutioned when the gun is found at CLIFF´s home and he is arrested at Barnes-Wentworth entry, in front of PAM and J.R., who has come to see it...

3/164: “IF AT FIRST YOU DON´T SUCCEED”

The enquiry about BOBBY´s shooting takes an unexpected twist that makes J.R. care about his own life and his brother´s. The aggressor is planning to strike back and the police are clueless. BOBBY decides to undergo surgery so he could regain his sight.



J.R. confesses BOBBY his guilt for what happened, since the shoots were meant for him: “The night before you were shot, I went to his office and told him how big a fool I´d been playing him for...” The police are obliged to release CLIFF when a young woman called MANDY WINGER provides him an alibi. Then, the killer strikes back...

4/165: “JAMIE”

Obsessed with BOBBY, KATHERINE tries to kill him again as she gets into his hospital room carrying a fatal injection. “I think she tried to kill my brother. I also think she´s the one who took those shots at me and hit BOBBY by mistake”. When the police arrest her, she confesses that she intended to shoot BOBBY, not J.R.:
“I love him! He doesn´t want me. He wants JENNA and, before that, he wanted PAM. Sweet, darling PAM, whom everybody adores. Well, they´re not going to have him – neither one of them. They poisoned his mind against me to keep me away but if I can´t have him, nobody can...”



Finally the patient regains his sight and returns to SOUTHFORK. But KATHERINE disappears mysteriously after being bailed out and selling her share of WENTWORTH Industries. CLIFF and PAM visit KATHERINE at HOUSTON when they learn that she has bought her parents´ old manor. “Miss Wentworth took most of her things when she left last night” – the maid tells them.




One fine day, an unknown visitor arrives at the ranch and reveals something that surprises the whole family: she is the daughter of JOCK´s brother JASON...

JAMIE, the mysterious young woman who has come up at SOUTHFORK, shows to the EWINGS her ALASKA driving license and an old picture of JOCK with her father JASON EWING. JAMIE stands up to J.R.´s questioning about the oil business...

Determined to unmask her, J.R. orders his lawyer to search on JAMIE, as he hints SUE ELLEN to draw his cousin out. “How much will it take for you to drop this stupid act and get out of here?” – he eventually tells JAMIE. PAM threatens J.R. with paying him back for CLIFF´s arrest...

PAM is shocked to see MARK´s car being driven in DALLAS. When she knows that his lawyer has been told to keep his legacy for two years, PAM begins to think that MARK must be alive...



This makes BOBBY believe that the best for him is marrying JENNA, but he prefers to wait for MISS ELLIE. SUE ELLEN stands up for JAMIE and promises her to protect her from J.R. On the other side, LUCY, who is working as a waitress now, fights with her workmate BETTY for a client called EDDIE.

7/168: “HOMECOMING”

ELLIE and CLAYTON return from their honeymoon. When she recognizes that JAMIE looks like JASON, her late husband´s brother, causes mixed reactions at SOUTHFORK. J.R. is worried about the BARNESES´ financial rising:
“MARK´s will hasn´t been probated yet; when it is, PAM could come into a substantial fortune, which she´ll add to the fortune she got when her Mama died. I tell you, that woman has a knack for piling up unearned dollars…– he complains to SUE ELLEN and later to BOBBY. - They´ll sure do anything to put us down...It´s war and we´re losing one battle after another.”



But PAM´s only worry is the possibility of finding MARK alive, so she calls his closest friend and doctor JERRY: “I think you should accept MARK´s death: it´s a reality”. CLAYTON soon realizes that he will have to live with JOCK´s ghost

ELLIE changes her bedroom´s furniture in order to make CLAYTON comfortable. CLIFF is concerned about PAM´s emotional condition, due to her obsession with MARK: “The way she is now, I don´t know how she would take BOBBY´s marriage to JENNA...”

The EWING family attends the Oil Baron´s Ball, where J.R. sees MANDY, CLIFF´s pretty girlfriend. MANDY has befriended PAM and advises her about BOBBY: “He doesn´t know that you still love him, the wedding hasn´t been announced yet. Maybe there´s a reason for it...”




But J.R., who has overheard their conversation, takes the microphone and announces BOBBY´s upcoming wedding to make sure it will go on: “This is the happiest night of my life, and I want to share this with you. A long time ago, my brother BOBBY was going to announce his engagement right there at the Ball. Unfortunately, that announcement never occurred. I´m delighted to tell you that, one month from today, my brother BOBBY is going to marry his childhood sweetheart – the one girl that he has loved all his life – and that´s JENNA WADE.”

BOBBY is angry at J.R. for his behaviour at the Ball: “It was a lousy and insensitive thing to embarrass PAM...” She continues her relentless search for MARK, especially now that BOBBY has made his marriage plans official: “I know everyone thinks I´m crazy to go on looking for MARK. Well, I´m not. He may be alive out there somewhere, and if he is and he´s sick and alone, he needs me more than ever. And if he is alive, I´m going to find him...”

NALDO MARCHETTA surfaces again and confesses JENNA that KATHERINE paid him to try to break up BOBBY and her: “I intend to see CHARLIE. I will do anything to do to make that happen.” Meanwhile, ELLIE decides to move JOCK´s portrait to EWING OIL, in spite of J.R.´s and BOBBY´s complains...

10/171: “CHARLIE”

JENNA tells BOBBY she is worried about NALDO´s return and decides to reveal CHARLIE that he is his real father. When the girl vanishes, JENNA thinks that NALDO has kidnapped her. While the police is searching for her, BOBBY hires some detectives to watch JENNA´s ex-husband. “I will not leave without my daughter and you cannot stop me – NALDO tells BOBBY.



SUE ELLEN gets JAMIE a job at EWING OIL as a receptionist. At the same time, RAY finds CHARLIE at the SOUTHFORK stable:
“I always wanted you to be my daddy” – she confesses BOBBY. “Your mama and I are going to be married, and the three of us will be a family; then you´ll be the daughter I always wanted to have.” In the meantime, the remains of MARK´s plane, but not his corpse, and PAM begins to hope she can really find him...

11/172: “BARBECUE 5”

J.R. starts his famous J.R. seduction focused on MANDY, inviting her at a lunch at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. JENNA and CHARLIE meet NALDO, determined to charm his daughter back.

At the EWING barbecue, JAMIE faces MARILEE:
“Is that how you conduct business in Dallas? By hugging and kissing a married man?" – she says. "Where has a kid like you ever seen a person like me?", answers MARILEE, to which JAMIE answers: "The Alaskan saloons my daddy used to hang out in were filled with females like you!" At the end, MARILEE is pushed into the pool. An angry J.R. attacks JAMIE and tells her to get off.



But she keeps an ace under her sleeve: “I´ll show you who´s a EWING and who belongs at here...”: A document that divides EWING OIL between JOCK, DIGGER and JASON EWING...

J.R. wants to prove that JAMIE´s document is a forgery. CLIFF, of course, offers JAMIE his help to prove its validity. She assures that she won´t use her compromising document against the family.



NALDO begins to hint at his daughter that he could take to Italy with her grandparents. JENNA´s worst fears realized when MARCHETTA kidnaps CHARLIE on the wedding day and she stands BOBBY up for the second time...
“I´m sorry. I hope you somehow can forgive me. I can´t marry you. As much as I love you, I love someone else more...and I´m doing what I must...”

J.R. and BOBBY get into action to track NALDO down, convinced of his responsibility of what happened: “If he doesn´t marry JENNA - J.R. fears - , we´ll have that BARNES woman in this house again...” RAY tells the guests that the ceremony must be postponed. Under these circumstances, J.R. and CLIFF ally to keep BOBBY and PAM away from each other: “Maybe it´s time for a BARNES and a EWING to work together...”

MARK´s chase takes PAMELA to a Caribbean clinic. JENNA realizes that the only way to see her daughter again is to play along with NALDO. When they meet BOBBY, the couple has just remarried...

NALDO rapes JENNA on their wedding night, with her screaming at him: “Stay away from me or I´ll kill you...!” J.R. tries to convince PAM that BOBBY has vowed to find JENNA, just like she has vowed to find MARK. BOBBY is heartbroken over JENNA´s wedding and proposes that no one mentions her name again: “I toast to the life she´s chosen for herself...wherever she is...whomever she is with...”

But JENNA is with a corpse when the police arrest her for murder. PAM gets news about MARK´s presence at a JAMAICA hospital, and CLAYTON accuses ELLIE of overprotecting BOBBY: “The family has worked out fine this way and I won´t let things change” – she assures.

JENNA is jailed in LAREDO for NALDO´s murder. The EWINGS provide her a good defense, attorney DEMEREST, who already defended JOCK in the past, but JENNA´s main concern is CHARLIE. Because of this, the judge refuses to set bail so JENNA won´t leave LAREDO...

Meanwhile, RAY and DONNA go to AUSTIN to search in SAM CULVER´s documents some clue to JAMIE´s rights. J.R. holds a last meeting with his confident SERENA, who is giving up her profession to marry. But JAMIE sees them together at the Oil Baron´s Club and, at home, she throws at him his misbehaviour, so unluckily that SUE ELLEN hears the argument...
"Sue Ellen, Jamie sees things she doesn't understand – is his poor excuse - and then broadcasts lies all over the place ! She´s been lying ever since you first got here and I'm sick and tired of it. I want you out of this house and off this property right now!"

JAMIE moves out of SOUTHFORK and her hatred towards J.R. makes her ally with CLIFF and keep away from SUE ELLEN...JENNA´s attorney reports that the police has discovered her fingerprints all over the crime weapon. At the same time BOBBY comes up to a meeting in CALIFORNIA with VERONICA, NALDO´s accomplice, who demands 50.000 dollars for the return of the girl.

SUE ELLEN goes off the wagon after her husband´s new betrayal: “JAMIE has allowed me to see myself today and it wasn´t a nice sight, pretending that we could be happy together.”

JENNA is released on bail and moves into SOUTHFORK with CHARLIE. PAM discovers that she has been sent on a wild goose chase by J.R., who left a trail of tips indicating MARK´s whereabouts, so she doesn´t rely on recent news locating him in HONG KONG...

JENNA refuses to marry BOBBY until her trial is over. J.R. eventually seduces MANDY through caviar, champagne and flowers. Meanwhile, CLIFF and JAMIE work out a strategy so they can claim their shares of EWING OIL: “Hell will freeze before you get any share of my company...” – claims J.R.

Furious about J.R.´s meddling, PAM joins forces with CLIFF and JAMIE to take their two-thirds of EWING OIL away from J.R. and see him down:
“You have no heart, you have no feelings. You can´t be hurt. But you have one weak spot, that´s Ewing Oil. And I'm going to join Cliff and Jamie and together were going to take your precious company ...”

MANDY feels guilty for spying J.R. for CLIFF, though she realizes they´re both using her. When he knows what happened to PAM, BOBBY jumps onto J.R., full of anger...J.R. is aware of his family´s precarious situation due to CLIFF´s injunction papers.

19/180: “SINS OF THE FATHERS”

CLIFF, JAMIE and PAM get to freeze the company´s assets temporarily, and a desperate J.R. decides to remove some of the capital through a dummy corporation: “CLIFF and that little traitor he´s working with don´t stand one chance in a million of getting a hold of my company...” He also brings to DALLAS a guy named BRINDLE, who worked the first rig with the EWINGS.

The possibility of a suit reveals an unhonorable side in JOCK´s life, which makes RAY fight actively against CLIFF. Besides, MANDY ends up breaking her relationship with him:
”You are selfish, insensitive, cheap, no class jerk! Next to you, J.R. Ewing is quite a catch!" All the interested parties reunited, BRINDLE pulls out the proof of the validity of the mysterious document: a match that DIGGER asked him to keep for him: “JOCK made out this paper so that JASON could not cheat DIGGER out of his third of the company...”

CLAYTON refuses to collaborate with J.R. in the dummy corporation scheme, which he considers unethical. ELLIE backs up her husband, to the dismay of the boys:
“I know that J.R. is capable of doing all shorts of things – she confides DONNA – And somehow this time I´m hoping that because of what´s at stake, he´ll act differently”.

PAM and JAMIE fear that the suit might affect JASON´s reputation. Meanwhile, DONNA begins to worry about RAY´s involvement in EWING OIL. PAM and SUE ELLEN fly to HONG KONG following a lead that MARK has been seen in a clinic there...

The judge finally grants a change of venue and JENNA´s trial continues in DALLAS... CLAYTON advises RAY to give up on the fight for his marriage´s sake:
“It´s really BOBBY and J.R.´s fight. You never had anything to do with that company. Just how long do you think J.R. is going to consider you a real full-fledged EWING brother when this case is over? About 20 seconds!”
VERONICA agrees to testify for her since her testimony might get JENNA off. But NALDO´s accomplice is found dead in the airplane lavatory...

An autopsy reveals that VERONICA was a heavy drug user. JENNA sinks into depression... CLIFF, J.R. and MANDY have a violent encounter at the Oil Baron´s Club, at the Cartel´s eyes: “Well, Marilee, I see you and Jamie have made up – J.R. says sarcastically - Plannin' a little midnight swim later?".


PAM and SUE ELLEN arrive at HONG KONG, where they hope to find MARK. But the sick man who is supposed to be MARK, refuses to see her:
“Mr. Swanson has told me that he does not want to see you or anyone. He is now in remission; his condition has not worsened since he came to visit us. This is a long way to come for no results, and I am sorry, but I will honor Mr. Swanson´s wishes...”

PAM eventually bribes an employee of the clinic and, disguised as a nurse, sneaks into MARK´s room...

PAM explains SUE ELLEN that the man she found at the clinic wasn´t MARK and she´s decided to give up the search. Even so, she suspects that J.R. must have something to do with it. The news of oil striking in DONNA´s small tract makes the couple fall apart: “I don´t need her success. I need a wife...”

JAMIE and CLIFF have started a relationship including the personal field too: “I get the feeling I have spent my entire life with the wrong women. You know what´s important in life, and what a man needs.” JENNA´s case is tried in criminal court and BOBBY is called as a witness against her. BOBBY and JENNA are really worried about the trial, because VERONICA´s sister refuses to testify because she fears the consequences. J.R. finally admits that he wanted to make PAM apart from BOBBY...

BOBBY tracks down ANN McFADDEN, VERONICA´s sister, who has a letter from her sister that will clear JENNA. But she will not deliver it because she fears that she too will be murdered...When the letter is finally read in court, the prosecution discredits it...

A government organism decreets that some of J.R.´s rigs must be closed due to contamination and he reacts to that promising its president financing his electoral campaign. J.R. assures MANDY that his relationship with SUE ELLEN is about to end.
”Sleep with anybody you want to, as long as it´s not with me“ – his wife tells him.

RAY and DONNA are still estranged due to his alliance with J.R.: “JOCK is dead, RAY. Do something for the living...” At the end, JENNA is declared guilty of voluntary manslaughter...

JENNA is sentenced to seven years in jail and BOBBY announces that he is CHARLIE´s real father, to take care of the child when her mother is in prison.

J.R. uses this technicality to separate BOBBY and PAM emotionally:
“He always told me that we should be honest with each other and he lied to me. I don´t think I can ever forgive him. I don´t think I want to see him again either...”

Also, SUE ELLEN fights with J.R.: “You play myself a fool with that slut and you only say: so what?” “MANDY is no slut!” - J.R. claims. “Now the famous stud of DALLAS turns out to be in love...” On their own side, CLIFF and JAMIE are more and more attracted to each other...

When J.R. realizes how dangerous JAMIE and the BARNES brothers would be a team, he decides to get BOBBY and his ex-wife back together again:
“PAM, I was the one who sent you on that wild goose chase looking for Mark Graison.” “What? – she answers - Why this sudden desire to tell all, J.R. ? Did your doctor tell you that you have a week to live or did you suddenly find religion?” Meanwhile, JAMIE gives SUE ELLEN a valuable advise on her marriage to J.R.:

“As long as he´s your husband, it´s your problem. Burying your head in the sand is no solution. Blaming other women is not fair. When you realize that you have to do something for yourself, you can count on me for help...” At Southfork, SUE ELLEN also has a heart-to-heart talk with DONNA:
"How was Hong Kong?" "Hong Kong? Poor Pam!”"Poor Pam, poor you, poor me!" "Do you detect a pattern?" "More like an epidemic!" "The Curse of the Ewings!" "There has to be a cure!" “Nothing known to man!" "It wasn´t supposed to happen to me" "I Know." – concludes SUE ELLEN. Certain clues make BOBBY hope to get a second chance for JENNA, but she is depressed and doesn´t want to see him any more...



JAMIE receives the unexpected visit of her brother JACK: “I kind of like it here in DALLAS. I´ll see you around, Sis.”

”I haven´t seen him in years. He´s a natural-born con artist and I don´t put anything past him...” – she tells the BARNES brothers. BOBBY and PAM are mutually attracted to each other again while DONNA thinks that only divorce can put an end to her marital problems...

J.R. attacks SUE ELLEN verbally when JOHN ROSS has an appendicitis in her absence: “He doesn´t need you, he and all of us would be better off without you”.

By accusing her of being an unfit mother, J.R. sends SUE ELLEN back to the bottle. CLIFF and JAMIE get married in an impromptu ceremony.

“It´s very sudden - PAM notes – Are you sure about this, CLIFF?” “I´m tired of being single...” J.R. assures MANDY that there´s nothing better to break up with SUE ELLEN than pushing her to drink: “Your mama is very tired – he explains to his son – maybe we should take her somewhere to rest for a long long while...”

The EWING brothers have found some papers of JOCK they believed lost, through his first wife AMANDA, who had kept a match of it too.

J.R. aggravates the feud with CLIFF to make sure they will see their day in court:
“ Drop the suit? Not on your life. I´ve got you by the throat. And I´m not going to let go. I want this to go on public record. I want everybody to know how JOCK EWING did my Daddy in. And I´m going to sit there and watch you squirm while I do it...”

BOBBY gets a confession from NALDO´s real murderer and JENNA is released. But he has also discovered that PAM is her true and only love: “I´ve always loved you PAM, and always will...”



The BARNESES and the EWINGS go to court finally: a man named WINDHAM testifies that, in the Depression Years, he bought out the EWING OIL shares of DIGGER and JASON and then he sold them back to JOCK. AMANDA´s documents prove it and provide the victory to the EWINGS.

30/191: “SWAN SONG”

The EWINGS hold a party for family and friends, including JENNA, who has been released after the confession of NALDO´s killer. The party comes to an end. When JR charmingly says goodbye to LUCY and MITCH, he finds SUE ELLEN passed out dead drunk. CLAYTON asks JR to help them to take SUE ELLEN home but JR refuses, saying that SUE ELLEN doesn´t probably want him near. The family manages to drive her home and put her into bed, where she incoherently whispers that DUSTY has been the only man who has really loved her...


RAY meets DONNA playing piano at the living-room and she finally reveals her secret. RAY is overwhelmed and thinks that the baby is the solution to all their problems. DONNA says she wants to solve out the real problem in their marriage and is not sure of what she wishes to do with her pregnancy at that moment.

J.R. rushes to MANDY´s apartment. “I gave her every chance in the world to be a good wife. The die is cast now. There´s no going back. You and I are going to have the kind of relationship that you´ve always wanted...” He tells MANDY that his opinion about her is different to what he has thought about the other women, and he won´t hesitate to pull SUE ELLEN away so they can be together.





JENNA confides BOBBY that she wants to get married as soon as possible. Meanwhile, PAM is resting on her bed, alone, silently wondering what could have been...


The next day, PAM confesses BOBBY she still hoped they could be together. She is worried because JENNA is out of prison and back at SOUTHFORK, and that will end her relationship with BOBBY.
“One of the things I love about you – she says – is your sense of honor. I mean, how could you not to marry her? You´re really obligated...”

As he leaves from PAM´s house, he is followed by a car driven by a blond woman...


That night, the unknown blond watches a news broadcast about the Ewings´ party. When she sees JENNA´s image, she throws a glass of tomato juice at the TV set...The next morning, SUE ELLEN explains that she was feeling guilty for her absence when JOHN ROSS needed her and used it as an excuse to drink again. She says she could control it before and will stop drinking on her own this time too.

Later on ELLIE goes at Ewing Oil to tell JR that SUE ELLEN has got drunk again that afternoon. CLIFF asks his lawyer what could go on if he would divorce JAMIE. He says that she could strongly claim for her company share, unless she agreed to an annulment, which only would imply a financial agreement. CLAYTON meets DUSTY at the Oil Baron´s Club and DUSTY tells him that LINDA has asked him for a divorce because he could never forget his feelings for SUE ELLEN.




LUCY and MITCH announce they will get married the next day and so do they. This wedding reminds BOBBY that it´s sort of a EWING tradition to marry the same person twice.
“Everyone seems to think we´ll be next. - JENNA tells BOBBY when she sees his reaction to a comment made by LUCY. – There was a time that I was absolutely sure that getting married was the right thing to do, but I´m not so sure any more...”




CLIFF decides to explain to JAMIE that he is a carrier of neurofibromatosis, so he had a vasectomy done. CLIFF offers to get her a marriage annulment if she wants to, but JAMIE says she respects his honesty and still loves him more. She promises to help him to become the wealthiest independent oilman in Texas.

At the ranch, the marriage argues about what happened:
“Joan of Arc would have been a drunk if she had been married to you...”
“But she´s not, you are, and I don´t wanna a drunk for a wife. End this marriage now”.
”Why? So you can be with that WINGER tramp?”
Well honey, why don´t you leave me and JOHN ROSS and Southfork and inflict yourself on someone else?"
"I'll never leave JOHN ROSS here with you!"
"You´re gonna leave on your own or you´re gonna be driven off, but one way or another this marriage is over"
“It'll be over when I say it"
"Then say it, Sue Ellen and save yourself another trip to the sanitarium...”



BOBBY proposes PAM to follow MITCH´s and LUCY´s pattern: “I think JENNA knows how I feel. She´s just going to have to understand...It´ll be better for her than being married to a man who´s in love with someone else.
“If you still love me, if you´ll have me, I want to marry you. We don´t have to live at SOUTHFORK...as long as we´re together. Will you marry me, again?”
“Oh yes, yes. I want you so much...I thought I´d lost you forever...”




Outside the manor, the blonde in the car angrily watches the lights turn off from a distance. Meanwhile, by the shadowed SOUTHFORK pool, RAY is trying to convince DONNA that all their problems will solve out thanks to the family they will make with the baby she is expecting...BOBBY stays the night and, the next morning, they begin to make plans to remarry and reunite their family. Then BOBBY leaves to head back the ranch...



...But a car comes careening across the driveway to hit and run PAM.





BOBBY knocks her to safety and the car hits him instead. He is rolled across the top of the car and falls onto the driveway...

PAM cradles him in her arms while screaming desperately...The car crashes against the gardener’s truck and the driver, KATHERINE WENTWORTH, wearing a blonde wig, is killed instantly...



SUE ELLEN meets DUSTY and begs him to help her to fight J.R., otherwise he will commit her into a sanitarium again. “That will never happen…”, he assures.


JACK goes at CLIFF´s to see JAMIE and tells her about the deal he made with J.R. for 10% of the company. He says that he did it because he couldn´t take the chance of WYNDHAM advancing to him and leaving them with nothing. But he promises that he will share his percentage with her. CLIFF comes up and tells JACK off while the radio broadcasts the news of BOBBY´s close-to-death condition...







BOBBY JAMES EWING dies a few hours later at DALLAS MEMORIAL Hospital. The whole family, including PAM and JENNA, but not SUE ELLEN, gather around BOBBY´s bed, after being submitted to surgery to try to heal his serious inner injuries. “All that wasted time…” he whispers to PAM, “we could have been married...” “Be a family”, he begs, just before to expire and die.
