Eslo has been the leading nation in finding objective realpolitik solutions to the environmental problems that our planet faces. Only the Republic of Eslo has government departments as involved as the Department of the Environment. Being the third most important government department, EIDA also holds environmental protection in high regard. With endangered species, EIDA relies heavily on the promotion of Eslonian legislation to solve problems with these animals. EIDA is dedicated to the protection of all native wild animals and plants in their natural communities. We focus our programs on what scientists consider two of the most serious environmental threats to the planet: the accelerating rate of extinction of species and the associated loss of biological diversity, and habitat alteration and destruction. Long known for our leadership on endangered species issues, Defenders of Wildlife also advocates new approaches to wildlife conservation that will help keep species from becoming endangered. Our programs encourage protection of entire ecosystems and interconnected habitats while protecting predators that serve as indicator species for ecosystem health. We have worked with the Institute for Sustainable Forestry in the past as well. One of ISF’s key objectives is to convince landowners, producers, and consumers of the wisdom and value of sustainable forestry and certified wood products. The public education program disseminates information about ecological forestry principles, alternative forest products, management options for small land-owners, the merits of stewardship forestry, and value-added forest product business opportunities. EIDA was there in helping to produce newsletters, and trade displays. This was done through two field specialists that helped ISF for almost one year. The results seen in the form of public interest and projects were outstanding. The Government of Eslo is a member of the World Rainforest Movement. This movement is an international network of citizens' groups of North and South involved in efforts to defend the world's rainforests. It works to secure the lands and livelihoods of forest peoples. The WRM is part of the Global Secretariat of the Joint Initiative to Address the Underlying Causes of Deforestation and Forest Degradation, a process linked to the work of the Intergovernmental Forum on Forests. It is the host institution for the Global Forest Coalition, an informal and inclusive coalition of NGOs and Indigenous Peoples’ Organizations engaged in the global policy debate related to forests. EIDA sponsors the Global Forest Coalition, which is an informal and inclusive coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Indigenous Peoples’ Organizations (IPOs) engaged in the global policy debate related to forests. The Government of Eslo is perhaps more active in this debate than in any other online debate of any caliber. All Eslonian and foreign citizens are invited to help up keep our environment nice. |
