Connecticut.
Richard was one of four brothers who came to America in 1629 with their father, Alexander
Webb Jr. He emigrated from England to Stamford, Connecticut in 1629 and settled at
Norwalk, Connecticut in 1646. From him is descended through Richard: Jonathon, Richard,
Silvanus, Silas and Dr George F Webb. When Richard died he bequeathed the entire Webb
property to Elizabeth Gregory Webb (his second wife). No children have been identified by
this second marriage.
Richard married (1) Grace WILSON on May 1 1610 in Dorsetshire, England. Grace was born in
1594 in Dorsetshire, England.

England. He died in Norfolk, Norfolk County, Virginia.
William Micajah WEBB came to America in 1629 and was a merchant in Norfolk, Virginia. He
originally settled at the Isle of Pines and then died at Norfolk, Virginia. From him,
styled "The Merchant of Virginia", came the great southern branch of the Webb
family. One of his sons, James moved to Richmond, Virginia and Lucy Webb was of this
branch. His place of residence for a while was Smithfield, Isle of Wight, Virginia. He was
a renowned shipbuilder and designer.

records give the year as 1626. He settled at Braintree Massachutts. His son, Christopher
Jr was born in 1630 in England and married Hannah Scott.
Christopher married Humility WHEATON on Apr 22 1629 in Crediton, Devon, England. Humility
was born in 1599 in Stratford, Warwickshire, England. She died in Nov 1687 in Braintree,
Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
The LDS has copies of the Crediton Parish Register. Crediton is in
Devonshire.
