Drowning Pool Singer Death Ruled Natural
Autopsy results released September 26th revealed that Drowning Pool singer David Williams died of natural causes. Some had speculated that the 30-year-old's death was alcohol- or drug-related. The autopsy showed that while there were insignificant amounts of alcohol and prescription drugs in his system, they were not a factor in his death.
Williams death was caused by heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy, a disease characterized by enlarged areas in the heart, according to a spokesperson for the Prince William (Va.) Police Department. Williams and his Dallas, Texas-based band had been touring as one of the second stage headliners on this summer's Ozzfest. On the night of August 14th, the band checked in to a Holiday Inn near Manassas, Va.; they were scheduled to play the Washington, D.C.-area the following day. When Williams didn't follow the band mates off the bus, they returned to the tour bus and found him dead in his bunk.
