Several properties of scanning laser ophthalmoscopy are illustrated in this image. (1) Detailed infra-red imaging of central lesion (neovascularization), after PDT, with remaining ring of retinal edema. This is suggestive of further leakage. (2) Microperimetric evaluation indicates the area used by the subject for acuity determination under various conditions of background illumination, in this case high photopic. (3) Our current work involves a therapeutic SLO capable of delivering PDT and classic thermal coagulation with a single instrument combining all advantages, including Microperimetry and infra-red confocal imaging. |
