Bobby Patrick - vocals/trumpet Archie Leggatt - bass guitar/vocals Alex Young - saxophone Pete McCrory - guitar John A. Wiggins - keyboards Freddy Smith - drums The Bobby Patrick Big Six were a Glasgow band who, while never achieving much success at home, built up a good following in Germany. Patrick formed the band in 1960 and they went to Hamburg in '62. The band proved to be particularly popular with US servicemen stationed in that country. They toured Europe with Tony Sheridan in 1963, playing their own shows as well as providing support for the popular Sheridan. Occasionally they provided back-up for major American acts such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison on their British tours. Effectively, the group split up in 1964 when Patrick and Leggatt returned to Britain, although the remaining members continued to play the German club circuit as The Big Six.
