Biography Her name is likely derived from the Greek Titan Cronus, also spelled Chronos or Khronos from the Greek word crono (Xpovoç) meaning interval or time. Cronus was the son of Uranus (Father Sky) and Gaea (Mother Earth) and was leader of the Titans. The ancient Greeks considered him the personification of time. Cronus was also the father of about half of the Greek Gods, including Poseidon, Hades and Zeus. Fearing that one day his children would destroy him Cronus swallowed the infants shortly after their births. When Zeus was born his mother hid him, he later returned and slew Cronus thereby freeing his siblings. |
