Steve Irwin The Crocodile Hunter February 1962 to September 4, 2006 Nature's best fighter for Conservation and Protection of Wildlife In 1992, the Discovery Channel began a small series that become a worldwide phenomenon propelling a little unknown Aussie to fame. His name was "the Crocodile Hunter" and his efforts to protect and promote wildlife made him the stuff of legends. His passion for nature and the wildlife that exists around us is legendary. He not only showed how wildlife and people interact but how that interaction is part of a world that is necessary for all living life to exist. His enthusiam began as a small child and endured throughout his life. In 1992, he met and fell in love with Terri who within 6 months would become "Mrs. Crocodile Hunter" and join her husband on the wild and crazy adventures on the Discovery Channel. 1998, saw the expansion of the Irwin family with the birth of little Bindi...her daddy's pride and joy... December 2003, saw the expansion of the family once more with little Baby Bob... On September 4, 2006 while filming a new series for his daughter Bindi, Steve Irwin met with a fatal strike from a stingray...many were shocked and in awe that this man who wrestled crocodiles and handled poisonous snakes in a fashion that we would normally never dream of actually died from something as benign as a stingray...we all thought and believed that it would be a crocodile or snake that eventually got him...but we were wrong. I can only assume that God needed his wildlife expert for something far greater than we can imagine and called him to His side.
