Daniel S. J. Choy, MD:
The Laser Spine Center was founded by Dr. Daniel S. J. Choy, who is on the staffs of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He is widely recognized as one of the leaders in contemporary laser medicine and surgery. Dr. Choy has taught PLDD to over 300 neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons world-wide.
PLDD (Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression) is a non-surgical laser treatment performed on an out-patient basis using local anesthesia. Nearly 90% of patients commonly experience immediate pain relief and go home with just a small adhesive bandage!
As of September, 2002, Dr. Choy has performed more than 2000 PLDD procedures, with an 89% success rate and a 0.4% complication rate on cervical, thoracic and lumbar discs.
