The economy is pastoral and agricultural. The nomads, once numerous, are now mostly settled. Village and camp crafts include the weaving of carpets, tent cloth, and material for the picturesque national costumes. The principal winter crops are wheat barley; common irrigated summer crops are rice, maize, millet, and lentils; viticulture is practiced; the most valuable money crops is tobacco; walnuts, raisins, dried fruits, especially mulberries, oak galls, gum arabic and gum tragacath are produced........
