Aunt Tinkie, whom is like an aunt to Maude, is on her way to Tuckahoe to visit the Findlays. Dreading her visit because of her unpleasant, complaining ways, Maude assures her flying is safe and the way to travel. When Maude receives news that the plane has crashed, she feels guilty, until she gets excited making plans for a vacation, using the insurance money she is to receive from the accident.

When Walter fires the employee over her propositioning him with an affair, he has a hard time telling Maude. Moments before the show is to be filmed, Maude finds out about the firing over the proposition, resulting in the show going on without the female employee.

When Maude has a party for her grandson Phillip, only three nerdy children show up. Everything is quiet and dull until another party arrives over losing their electricity. Things get so out of control, that Arthur next door calls the police. Maude will not allow the police officer to bring order, but later bluntly and loudly ends the party herself when she has had enough.

Maude thinks the ecologist is attracted to her and likes it, but in reality, he is attracted to Vivian. When Vivian informs Maude of the ecologist's feelings, Maude does not believe her, instead believes he is using Vivian to get to her.

Maude and Arthur have different views on a new gay bar opening in Tuckahoe. Arthur plans to picket against it, saying it is against the Tuckahoe ordinance. Maude talks Arthur into going to the bar with her, to see what it is like, thinking to change Arthur's mind. While there, Arthur is informed, that the bar is not in Tuckahoe, but instead is across the street, so there is nothing he can do.
