Biking the North Sea trail from Den Haag to Amsterdam
Biking parts of this trail which was my favorite thing that I did in Holland. We biked to Amsterdam and back, often following the North Sea we stopped at Noordwijk Beach. We stopped in Harlem. We also camped in a small campground on our way back to Den Haag. People who had brought almost all their home camping, were staring us. They probably wondered where all our stuff was. After all we only had a tent and some sleeping bags. On the trail, It was really wet. It rained a lot. One time we even hid behind a house. I liked the freedom of the wild. The dunes were spectacular, we saw a couple of rabbits jumping in front of us. We also saw huge fields of tulips and some windmills. On the bad side my wife kept complaining about her bum being sore. The seats were hard and the one-speed bike slow and a bit primitive. If you have a chance do not miss the chance of biking this trail.
