We came to Venice from Slovenia. We arrived in early afternoon. We had to find a parking spot at the Tronchetto Island. They are not cheap. We decided to pay hourly rates to save some money. We had no intention of staying more than a couple of hours. We bought a day pass to travel from place to place. It cost 12 euros per person. We tried to do the main sights. We took one of those Vaporettos that brought us to the Gran Canal by the Rialto. We had a tour of Gondola. I had another family of four with us. I did not feel like paying 100 euros by myself. The family from Scotland got the best seats. It was hard to get great pictures of the gondola because we did not have a good seat. I asked the driver after we stopped our boat if we could position ourselves to take a better picture and he refused.

It was still a great experience even if the driver was a bit cranky. He brought us in an interesting and he may have extended it. We also visited the Piazza San Marco and the Basilica di San Marco. Isabelle loved feeding the pigeons. She did not want to leave.
