Hi, The dating of the transept is confused by the presence of the effigy, which is 13th century. However, Bigland shows the chancel and transepts were in use in 1699 when Mary Welsh was buried there.
Longhope in 1522 had as Steward Sir Christopher Baynham, and John Bird had the Vicarage. 55 are listed in the Military Survey dated 1522, 12 surnamed Dobbys, 5 are Wyntyll or Awyntyll.
Register totals for the 10 years between 1781 and 1790 are 33 marriages, 155 baptisms and 120 burials, suggesting about 30 families with children. Benefactions include Thomas Nourse, whose Will provided annually on St Andrews Day, 10 coats for needy persons choosen by the Churchwardens, and two Apprenticeships for children in receipt of Alms, to be appointed in London, Bristol, Gloucester, or some Market-town, to a Trade there. Land left by Will of Thomas Hodges now vested in William Edwards who pays 20s per annum Likewise other Parish lands and Tenements which provide money for the Relief of needy persons belonging to the Parish, held in 1780 by Edmund Probyn 3-10-0, Thomas Parry 10s, William Edwards 2-5-0, Cornelius Blewett 18s, Thomas Dobbs 5-0-0, Elizabeth Hodges 2-10-0, William Watkins 19s, John Phelps 4-10-0, Joseph Acton 9-0-0, Thomas Constance 2-10-0, William Reece 15s, Mary Blewett 1-0-0, Thomas Rudge 2-0-0, Nathaniel Vaughan 12-0-0, total of 47-7-0. This tablet high on the south wall, outside the Chancel, mourns the death of 'Judith 7th daughter of John Arrowsmith DD by Mary Percival his second wife who lived truly pious and died March ye 13 1710 the much lamented wife of George Ven MA Vicar aged 52'. At first I thought the stone was for a baby, now I see that husband Rev George is proud of his wife's ancestry. This monument is not listed by Bigland, and has been restored recently. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The tombstone on the left is to Thomas Lodge died 7 Oct 1785 aged 52, and to Ann his daughter by Jane his wife died 7 Ap 1763 - rest is lost The pair of stones - left appears to have been a portrait, and right may have been a coat of arms.
