HOW I BECAME A FAN | ||||||
It all started in May 1999, when TFI Friday was kickstarting off the great British publics weekends, with a top-notch chat show that soon disolved due to having the same guests every series, and the ginger binger Chris Evans leaving. When this was on the box, being viewed by thousands of people, I turned on the TV to watch TFI Friday. After the show this rock band played it out, with this catchy rock number in which the lead singer says "INSOMNIA!" after singing about "night nurse pills to keep me sane". I loved the song, and found out during the end credits that they are called Feeder. I did a web search on them and came up with Feederweb. I soon went out to the shops and grabbed a load of their albums, loved every one and became a fan instantly. Soon later they appeared again on TOTP after the said single gave them their biggest hit at the time and debut TOTP slot, when it charted at #22 on the top 40 and #85 on the Eurochart Hot 100. I wasn't a singles buyer back then, and so was still yet to learn everything great about Feeder. However, in 2000 Laura taped off for me a selection of her fave B-sides, and felt loads of catching up needed to be done!- a few of them are better than some of the A-sides!. I immediately went on the internet and searched for more stuff, and by mid 2001 I had all the CD/7" singles minus tape singles which I am still trying to find!. (I now have YWTS and Turn though!) So there you have it!, my story of how I became the Feeder fan I am today!. |
