Unto a land known just to me
Of lovely long ago's
Upon the wings of memory
To days that I have known
Forgotten to all others
This now forsaken land
Of yesterdays broken dreams
And ever shifting sands
Life has left me wanting
In oh so many ways
love's I've lost
Friend's who've changed
Failures in the way
It's dust upon the mantle now
In a far and distant land
Yet it hinders my progression
As ever shifting sands
I've seen love at its finest hour
A bright and steady flame
It burns still in the lonely night
Of forgotten yesterday's
I watch it start to flicker
Then slip right through my hands
Uncertain as a house that's built
On ever shifting sands
I'll love again I know I will
Love's a part of me
But will I find a lasting love
We'll have to wait and see
For feelings change
As do the times
And fickle summer winds
For love is like a wind that blows
Over ever shifting sands
