LONG ISLAND TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The long Island Division will hold a Team Championships for both the Junior and Open age categories. These team championships are for member clubs of the USFA only and there can be no composite teams. Every member who wishes to compete in the team championships may only fence for the club that they represent. There can be only one team per event per club. For your information the make of a team is at the sole discretion of each clubs management. Contact your fencing club for more information. The Club team championships will also be the qualifier to Summer Nationals

Division I | Born 1990 or earlier unless on the current Junior point standings and have a “C” or above by entry deadline. |
Division II | Born 1990 or earlier unless on the current Junior point standings and have a “C” or lower by entry deadline. |
Division III | Born 1990 or earlier unless on the
current Junior point standings and have a “D” or lower by entry deadline. |
Veteran | Born 1963 or earlier |
Junior | Born between 1984-1990. Younger age if on current cadet standing. For 2004 Summer Nationals fencers must be born between 1985-1991, younger age if on cadet standings on May 1,2004. |
Cadet | Born between 1987-1990. Younger age if on current Y14 standing. For 2004 Summer Nationals fencers must be born between 1988-1991, younger age if on Y14 standings on May 1,2004. |
Youth 14 | Born between 1989-1992,Younger age if on the Y12 standings by April 2, 2004, same for 2004 Summer Nationals. |
Youth 12 | Born between 1991-1994,same for 2004 Summer Nationals. |
Youth 10 | Born between 1993-1996,same for 2004 Summer Nationals. |
OFFICAL SANCTIONING OF LONG ISLAND CLUB COMPETITIONS
The long Island Division officially sanctions all club meets subject to the following conditions being meet by the hosting club:
· The Club must follow all USFA rules (Full safety gear) and practices for running the Tournament.
· The Club must publicize the competition by mailing, flyer, or Internet. (No instant competitions)
· All contestants must be current COMPETITIVE members of the USFA.
No club may schedule a competition that conflicts with a Division qualifier.
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR LONG ISLAND TOURNAMENTS
· All fencers who compete, MUST have proof of current membership. If proof is not provided a new membership form must be completed and paid for. The waiver of liability must be signed by the fencer, and parent if under 18, before they may compete. If there is a question parents should come in and ensure the child is allowed to fence. Contact the National Office if membership card is delayed 719-866-4511.
· The cost of a competition is $10 for the first event and $5 for the second event. Each fencer is required to leave a $5 deposit. The deposit will be returned if the fencer stays around after they are eliminated and helps with the tournament (Clean up, Etc.).
· Times listed on the schedule are for close of registration, competition to follow as soon as possible. Late entries may be admitted at the sole discretion of the bout committee. Tournament format at the sole discretion of the bout committee.
· Fencers must be fully attired in a complete fencing uniform, to include under arm protector, knickers, and tall socks. Sweat pants are not acceptable. Girls must wear chest protection. Masks must pass a 12kg punch test and have a sewn in bib.
· Fencers are required to have two working weapons and two working body cords and a working lame (Foil/Saber). The equipment must conform to the rules or be subject to penalties (Yellow card, Red card, etc.).
