Fiberfab (Germany) Sherpa |

The Fiberfab SHERPA, was based on the chassis and technical of a Citroen 2CV/Diane. It's a jeeplike mix between a buggy and a VW "Thing", with some additional parts donored by Opel and Fiat. The german Fiberfab workshop was located near Heilbronn/Germany (which is just a one hour drive from Mannheim, where I live) and sold the regular kits engineered in the states. But they also built the Sherpa kit for Germany, Holland, France and GB! The produced approximately 200-250 kits between 1975-1982. As far as I could find out, there are only ten left in Germany and less then ten in the Netherlands! Due to the weak power of the two cylinder aircooled boxer engine of the Citroen 2CV, the SHERPA isn't bullet, barely reaching 65 miles/h. But it's fun to drive (especially without the top) and it has a good all terrain ability! |
