Neon's personality is an interesting one. When we first meet her, she is rude, arrogant, and basically a person you feel like strangling (Ok, that might be a bit extreme. I'm known for my exaggerations. ^_^) since she constantly smirked and insulted Recca and gang. She's rough and abrasive with people she doesn't like, especially those who try to make life hard for Kurei. However, once you get past that tough exterior you find that she's actually very kind and gentle, as cliche as that might sound, and is capable of loving so deeply that she would be willing to give up her life just to protect those she cares for very much.

She is, in fact, one of the Uruha Group of Ten, and formerly Kurei's maid. Neon was in love with him, but knew that he in turn loved Kurenai. She accepted their mutual love and did nothing to try to separate the two. She might have wished for Kurei to return her love, but certainly would not stoop so low as to get him by destroying the love between the two people she respected and admired the most.

After the brutal murder of Kurenai by Mori Kouran, Neon joined the Uruha Group of Ten for one sole purpose: To get closer to Kurei to be able to protect him from harm and be his right-hand "woman". (Raiha is his right-hand man ^_^ [Actually, maybe I should say "left-hand man and woman", since Kurei uses his left hand to create his flame. ^_~) After training tirelessly, despite the difficulties, she finally managed to achieve her goal. Although even being in Kurei's service was not without its difficulties (Such as being punished so severely when she disobeyed and told Recca about Kurei's past that she had to wear bandages for quite a while after that), she continues to serve him tirelessly, clinging on to the hope that he may one day return her love.
