Although 17-year-old Tokiya Mikagami acts aloof and cold most of the time, he really isn't as bad as he is made out to be. Despite the fact that he tells the others that he really doesn't care about them, later on in the show he thaws out slightly, although it isn't really obvious. For example, the reason why he fought with Recca before the double bout between he, Recca, Neon and Miki, was because he was angry at Recca for not letting withdraw from the match as Domon could have been killed by Aki. But then again, some might say it's just because he looks down on Domon's abilities... :( (In the manga, the reason is because Yanagi cut her hand on some rusted spikes and he, fearing that Yanagi would get an infection, sucked the rust out. Unfortunately, Recca saw this, and thinking that he had "evil intentions" on Yanagi, he hit him, and called him a "Blood sucking Pervert". ^_^ This really infuriated Tokiya, who was then already jealous of Yanagi's affection for Recca, and they exchanged blows)

Tokiya is also an extremely good fighter. He is able to memorize the enemies' attacks after fighting only for a short while (Shwon in his fight against Daikokuu and Neon) and doesn't lose his cool during battle like Recca or even Fuuko. (Does Domon ever get angry? Hm... I can't remember...) When he uses his Ice Sword Techniques (which is not really that often, if you think about it), he almost always wins.

An orphan, he was only 10 when his only living relative, his sister, was killed by some people who wished to steal the Ensui. Tokiya blames himself for his sister's death because she had jumped in front of him to block a blow directed at him. (Yuck! I hate the voice that the AXN dub gave Mifuyu! That voice just gives me the chills...) As a result, she died, and Tokiya has carried this burden around with him for 7 years. This is the reason why he remains anti-social and pushes away anyone who tries to make friends with him.. He does not want to become close to anyone as he is afraid that they will die and cause him more pain, as well as because he has been thinking only of avenging his sister.

When Recca and Tokiya first met, it was not on good terms. Tokiya challenged Recca to a fight because Kagerou had tricked him into thinking that Recca was the one who had killed his sister. At first, Tokiya beat Recca up pretty badly, until Yanagi came to his rescue. Seeing that Yanagi resembled his late sister very much, and her obvious concern for Recca, he decided to continue the fight later on. However, when they battled the second time, Recca managed to defeat him and he (unwillingly) became a member of the Hokage Team later on. (Because of Yanagi, or so he says...)

I think Mikagami is just so cool! He is one of the most popular characters among FoR fans, probably because he's so bishounen. ^_^ I could go on raving and ranting more about Mikagami, but I'm sure you would be bored out of your skulls. (BTW, he happens to be one of my favourite male characters in FoR) I would just like to say that he can rather arrogant at times. He is the oldest in Team Hokage (excluding Kagerou) and sometimes likes to assert his authority. (He likes to think of himself as the leader) Here's a list of how close I think he is to the others. (Closest comes first. This is MY opinion, so you may think differently)

1) Yanagi - She resembles his sister so much, and she's so sweet and kind he can't help not liking her. It is said that in the manga, he really WAS in love with Yanagi. (Unrequited love... how sad. *sob*)
2)Kagerou - He talks to her most often, probably because she is much more mature than the others. ^_^

5) Kaoru - They don't really interact much, but Tokiya DOES seem to care very much for Kaoru, since he let himself get beaten up by Mokuren just so that he could save Kaoru. He respects Kaoru's skills, after getting a first hand experience of them in Kurei's mansion. In the manga, he also accompanied Kaoru to the hospital when he fainted after the match with Tsukishiro

3) Fuuko - Fuuko seems to be the only one who is able to boss him around, and whom he is actually scared of when she gives him those threatening looks. LOL. Tokiya seems to have some respect for Fuuko's fighting skills, and doesn't tease Fuuko about her abilities like he does to Domon and Recca. (The perfect gentleman... heehee) Notice also he doesn't step on HER head in Kurei's mansion, after he had slashed the wall to pieces. He certainly knows how to treat a woman, ne? ^_^

4)Recca - At first, Tokiya and Recca REALLY didn't get along, but later on, after their double bout with Neon and Aki, their opinions of each other changed, and although it doesn't show much, they seem to respect each other better and don't fight as much anymore.

6) Domon - They don't seem to be very close, since Tokiya is always criticizing his skills etc, and Domon usually hangs around with the others more often. However, later on, this seems to change slightly as Domon becomes stronger. After all, he WAS worried for Domon's safety during the anime fight with Aki.
