View of the side of the canal leading to the sea.. i prefer somewhere over here or slightly further to the mouth. Lots of shade here.
You can park anywhere along the dirt track & start fishing along the 400m lenght!
Some of them prefer nearer to the bridge...lots of shade too..
View of the right side of the canal, from the bridge
A lone-ranger on the other side of the canal. It's hotter over there in the afternoon as the sun shines direct. You can't park there, entrance is blocked but bike can still go thru. Good thing is...not crowded at all...
View of the canal from the bridge. If you want to try fishing on the bridge, it is very shallowed
You can also try here on the beach[just like the guy behind me] but the current here is alot more violent.
That's the river mouth...climb down & you will reach the granite beach..
Travel towards the directions of the ferry terminal, you'll cross a canal[not shown in this old map], turn right just before the canal bridge...
A fellow angler hooked up this unusual-looking crab instead of a fish...Another guy got a pufferfish..There are bites over here, be patient & you'll get your rewards....:)
Thks to Anthony Darren for informing us[from email] - Caught 2 Indian Threadfish over here, each wgt approx 2 kg. And one bad news for those who drive: the entrance had been sealed! There's virtually nowhere to park. U'll have to park at the ferry terminal & hitch a ride back or walk. Bikers & cyclist are not affected as u can somehow squeeze thru' Added on 21/9/02
Quote from surfer, Kelvin[refer to Guestbook] - The tanah merah long kang has a long breakwater beside & during low tide, the curved area is good for KBL[Barramudi] & Barracuda. Live prawns would be the best. My record is a 6.8 kg barracuda. Best time to play is early morning when tide is going up, afternoon heat is unbearable. Added on 16/8/02
