Big-snout Croaker Johnius macrorhynus Sciaenidae [Drums or Croakers] 18.6 cm [max to 30 cm SL] 5.2 cm Marine Shallow coastal water. Benthic feeder. Yes. Lower part of body with a golden tinge. Pectoral, pelvic & anal fins yellow. A faint steel blue blotch on gill cover. Most common croakers are easy to recognize, by it's tadpole-shaped tail & it's unique snout. This fish was caught, somewhere east of Sg during "My 2nd Offshore trip" on 5/10/02 |
