Dorsal profile of head steeply sloped. Scale rows on back rising obliquely above lateral line. Body color, red to orange, including fins & caudal. Young with horizontal lines on sides & black band on caudal peduncle..

This whopping 6.5 kg, 76 cm Snapper was caught by him on rod using garfish[todak] as bait, on 27 July 2002, off Southern Island of Singapore.
