Identical to the "barramundi[lates calcarifer ] in shape esp those juveniles. Look up for the difference in the mouth area - upp jaw do not reach beyond eye whereas barra's jaws goes beyond the eyes: Lower edge of preopercle smooth whereas barra's is serrated. Body color varies from light silvery gray to brown. There's a brown stripe at the upp jaw to the preopercle. It's a much smaller species.
