Personal Information
I
don't like talking about myself much (yeah right!), but
I'll make an honest go at it to introduce myself to you
in a little more detail. My name is Lana Williams, and I
was born and raised in South Haven, Michigan. It's a very nice place to be
in the summertime since it's on Lake Michigan. I
graduated from South Haven High School in 1998, and after a long
summer of working, I started attending Western Michigan University in the fall of that year. I have a lot of different interests, and I like to be openminded to trying new things, except for foods. I'm a really picky eater. I listen to all types of music, including country thanks to my suitemate. I am interested in learning about different cultures. I'm studying Spanish right now and would really love to learn Italian some day. My hobbies include reading and writing (or else I wouldn't have majored in English!) and desktop publishing. I recently learned how to create webpages on the Internet, so I've been putting in lots of hobby time. Also, if you plan on reading my resume, you'll see that I am the newsletter for WMU's chapter of Golden Key International Honor Society. It was suggested that the newsletter be a web publication, so I've been trying to create the best web newsletter ever--even though it's my first try. I've had experience as a newsletter editor before, but we relied on passing out paper copies. But nonetheless, it has been a valuable experience. Feel free to check out "The Scroll" before you leave. I also plan to include a page dedicated solely to my family. At the present time, we have a family reunion in the works, so the page only contains information pertinent to that. I'll try to get pictures up soon. I've wanted to learn how to make a webpage for a long time, but it's important to note that this page was a requirement for my English 480 class, thanks to Allen Carey-Webb. I appreciate the assignment, though. It pushed me into getting started. My classmates created webpages as well and a link to their sites can be found on my page for teacher resources. In addition to these pages, we were also responsible for creating group webpages. I was a part of the Sexuality and Orientation in our Literature and Lives group. The thesis: I am interested in researching experiential learning in the secondary English classroom. It took me forever to come up with a topic and even longer to find a committee. However, if you have any thoughts, suggestions, ideas, or information, please contact me. I need all the help I can get! |
