Sisters in Crime, Inc.
Sisters in Crime has 3,600 members in 48 chapters world-wide, offering networking, advice, and support to mystery authors.  Members include authors, readers, publishers, agents, booksellers, and librarians bound by affection for the mystery genre and support of women who write mysteries.  Sisters in Crime was founded by Sara Paretsky and a group of women at the 1986 Bouchercon in Baltimore.
Jacksonville Public Library
Established in 1878 , the current library system consists of a Main Library and 16 additional units.

With the Better Jacksonville Plan, renovations of the branches as well as construction of six new regional units are in various stages of planning.
The Orange Prize for Fiction
The Orange Prize for Fiction was established in  the U.K. in 1994 to recognize women fiction writers.
