Week 5
June 14-June 20
Welcome to week five everybody.  I hope that those of you viewing this site are doing well.  And now, for the sad part.  Week 5 was not so great.  I actually had a major breakout on my right cheeck that involved three cysts that just will not go away.  Plus, I broke out really bad on my neck with three or four big cysts.  But, other than that, this week has been very educational for me.

I found out and did some research on a couple products to help treat a few of my side effects.  I have verified all of the following with my dermatologist, so I'm pretty sure that they are ok to use for most people.

     -
Cetaphil - This is a basic skin cleanser and moisturizer all in one.  It is fairly inexpensive and really does work.  Apparently, I was supposed to use this from the beginning, but I was never told to do so, so I'm guessing that my dermatologist thought I was psychic or something.

-Vitamin E - My dermatologist said that it was ok to take 400 IU of Vitamin E per day.  It is supposed to help out dry hair and improve the quality of the skin.  I've only used it twice, so I haven't been able to tell any real results yet, so I'm hoping it helps in some way.

     -
St. Ives Exfolitant - Basically, you can use any type of exfoliant, but I have always found St. Ives to be a great brand to use for any type of skin care.  I was using thei lotion on my face, which I think is what caused my break out, so now I only use the lotion on my hands, but it is great.  I highly recommend St. Ives skin care products.

Now, to tell you about my daily regimine as of today:
-40 mg Accutane in the morning and 40 mg of Accutane at night
-Cleanse with Cetaphil every morning and evening
-400 IU Vitamin E at breakfast
-St. Ives Exfoliant when I shower

I am really hoping that next week goes a lot better and that my break out clears within a couple of days.  I have put some Week 5 pictures on the next page if you are interested in seeing the results so far.  They aren't the greatest quality, but I do what I can.  Check back next week to see how well Week 6 goes for me.  Take care everyone!
