Zeal

"This is the Virtue of hunters who typically have one clear, all-encompasing perspective on and answer to the supernatural. For the most part that response is "destroy it." If your character's first reaction to seeing a horror is to take a direct action against it, she is probably an adherent of Zeal." (P. 157, H:tR)

Emotions run high and bad things die. These people aren't necessarily dense and they don't have to be moody, but they are passionate in their belief that the most immediate action is probably the best action. And that no matter what happens and how messy it gets you have to stick to what you believe. Asking the big questions is all well and good but when there's time for it. People could be dying to these things while you sit and think about it...

These are the people that, while not unthinking, have made a decision. The world is set, and shades of grey don't matter when the only choices are life and death.

Defender- Defenders are the people that will help push back the night at all costs; these things are threatening the people/places/things that they care about and that's not to be allowed. These are the strategists of the Hunt, at least in the sense that they realize what can possibly be lost and intend to protect it directly, destroying all that threatens the truly important. These are the optimists and generals of the War...

Quote: "People say the world's going to Hell. They're wrong. Hell's come to the world and we're the thin red line." (P.64, H:tR)

Imbuing: Usually involving spotting the creature's target and trying to get there first, not in a blind effort to sacrifice yourself for the person, but in a thought-out stand against the "thing."

Starting Conviction: 3

Judge- The judges are the people who don't care whether the creature they face was once human, or even whether or not it has emotions currently, all they need to know is whether the punishment is appropriate for the crime. A monster could be incredibly hideous an not deserve more than a harsh warning, but the most angelic beauty is going to meet a rough end if it is deemed a threat. Another well-known action of judges (and something they share with Defenders) is the working for a community in a non-Hunt related way...although Judges have the alternative motive of wishing to know the goings-on of the community.

Qoute: "I accuse you. Not simply of being corrupt, but of being a corruptoer, of making every person around you - even your accusers- more like you. How do you plead?" (P.68, H:tR)

Imbuing: Usually involving seeing two monsters in combat and having to decide which, if any, to help. Another is having to decide between two threats and decide which is the most imminent.

Starting Conviction: 3

Avengers- Oh come on. This is the one that everyone pictures when they hear about the new Hunters with "kewl powers." You know what they are; the ones that know what is right and wrong and they are always right...hesitation is a weapon of the enemy. These..."things" have been running the show and herding humanity for way too long, and while revenge is not pretty or comforting it is necessary. If you don't fight for the world who the hell will?

Quote: "The Devil sent his best, and I'm going to send every single one of them back with pieces missing."

Imbuing: Messy, rough, and a moment of change. It's Hollywood cinema at it's best; a monster, sure of it's superiority, gets smacked down by one of the cattle who learns both that the world is a horror-movie and he has the ability to change it all in the same scene.

Starting Conviction: 4
