Profile
Former Brentford club captain Evans was a driving force behind the Bees Second Division promotion push last season.
The midfield dynamo netted an impressive 14 goals from central midfield in 2001/02 and is a set-piece specialist. Evans also has a great eye for a pass and will work his socks off if their is a battle to be won in the middle of the park.
Out of contract this during the summer, the former Welsh Under 21 International was linked with cut-price moves to fellow Division 2 promotion hopefuls, Bristol City and Reading before the transfer deadline passed. Whilst publicly denying that a move was on the horizon, Evans confirmed he wanted First Division football in 2002/03.
This was almost achieved with the Bees, as the club reached the Second Division Play-off final, only to be defeated by Stoke.
Along with Ivar Ingimarsson and Lloyd Owusu, Evans walked out of Griffin Park after his contract was not renewed during the summer and joined a First Division club - cash strapped Bradford.
The Welshman initially joined the on trial, but when the Bantams' short-term future was secured, boss Nicky Law quickly snapped up his man.
