“Chicago” leads the pack with 13 nominations, followed by Scorsese’s “Gangs of New York” with 10 nominations and “The Hours” with 9. “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” becomes one of the few sequels ever nominated for best picture, and dark horse nominee “The Pianist” gets 8 nominations, including best picture and best director Roman Polanski.

I guessed about fifty-five of the ninety nominees, which is better than I did last year. Now I just need to find someone who’s willing to gamble with me over who’s going to win.
