Infant and Toddler Care |
If you read the "about me" section you know I was a working mom who put my child in daycare. My little girl was only 8 weeks old when she started daycare and I still recall those mornings I drove to work crying. Some days it was bad, other days just a tear or two in my eyes. Funny thing was, although it got fewer and further between, she was 12 months old and I STILL cried some mornings!!! But, I knew my daughter was in excellent care (THANK YOU SO MUCH ABBY!!!!). The heartache doesn't go away completely, but it certainly subsides when you have someone you trust caring for your infant. As a mom, I know how hard it is to find that kind of care, and that is one of the very reasons I decided to do home daycare. I CAN and WILL provide the best possible care for your infant or young toddler. They will get the personal attention they need and certainly deserve! Infants in my care will eat and sleep on demand, following the parents wishes as closely as possible. I will keep a detailed daily activity sheet so you will always know exactly what baby did. Babies will be held when fed. I NEVER prop a bottle or lay them in a crib to bottle feed. "Crawlies" will not be confined to a playpen or exersaucer at all during the day, with the exception of those moments I am not within arms reach. Our daycare area is child proofed and very safe for them to roam. All children are taught to be gentle to others, especially the babies. But, as previously mentioned, I WILL be within arms reach of them or will secure them in an area where they are safe! There is much to see and discover at this precious age and spending all day in a bouncy seat is NOT how they learn! Infants & Toddlers enjoy circle time on my lap, and will participate in any of the older children's activities adapted to their level. For example, if the pre-school children are doing an arts and crafts project, a younger child can sit on my lap and draw with a crayon! :) As your toddler gets older they will get more involved with the pre-school activities. I will always give the child the chance to participate in an activity, you will never know what they can do until they do it!!! |
