About Us |
About the Friendship Mennonite Youth Fellowship... The Friendship MYF is heading into its second year as a new group. New and exciting things are happening in the group as new leadership also comes into the larger church. Elders Dean Burden and Karen Ruff are serving with Alison Cox as advisors in order to make the MYF an even stronger body. Leadership in the MYF meet twice monthly to discuss upcoming events, spiritual matters, disciplinary problems, etc. A typical MYF meeting begins at 5:00PM on Sunday evenings in the youth room at Friendship Mennonite. The youth gather together on the couch, in the chairs, on the floor, etc. Meetings begin with prayer requests, praises, etc., and prayer. The meetings are centered in the Bible, with studies, activities, games, etc. to supplement the "lesson." Time is also generally spent in fellowship and planning future events. The MYF serve in the larger church as ushers, setting up the sanctuary, cleaning up the sanctuary after services, closing up the church, working in the nursery, leading Children's Time, working at Vacation Bible School, helping with the Sunday school, etc. Visit the Pictures page to see the MYF in action. |
