Friends of African Outlet (FOAO) was formed on February 2nd, 2003, having its 1st meeting  at The African Outlet store in San Francisco, California.  Our aim is to assist our friends, owners Horgan and Judah, in their various African Community efforts.

Judah is working on developing an African Cultural Community Center through her recently formed non-profit, "
Paths Of Native Africa".

Horgan, learning of shortages of basic school supplies (pencils, paper) and hospital medical equipment (wheelchairs) in villages of his native Nigeria, is seeking ways to locate and deliver such materials where needed, as needed.

In assisting Horgan and Judah, we aim to carry out efforts similar to "Peace Corps like" work, but as community member volunteers helping the folks back home.

The site's Navigation Menu reflects our structure.
Projects lists our current activities, Resources offers Technology Directories,  Newsgroup is a "Yahoo Groups" you can join for FOAO email updates and other useful assets in the Group's Files, Links and Database areas.  Updates tracks Appropriate Technology developments, Methodology describes our overall Village Enhancement paradigm and the About section presents our Mission and Core Values statements.

If you're interested in joining FOAO, please feel free to drop-in and attend a meeting (and enjoy a Nigerian pot-luck dinner dish of Horgan's tastefully prepared Jollof Rice ;) .
