"HEAVEN" |
This is a poem that I wrote in the later part of 1999. I was inspired to write this poem after viewing a picture in a gift shop in the mountains of North Carolina. I hope everyone will enjoy it. Have a blessed day. Spread your massive wings around me so that I can feel the warmth of Heaven and hear the hymns of angels. Lift me up into the sky where it seems the stars just dangle. Meet me in the place that is filled with thousands of lite candles at the foot of the white marble stairway lined with golden handles. Before I take the first step, there is something that I need to know. Is this the last time that I will see you? Or is it with me that you will go? It was You that made me sing the music in my heart. It was You that carried me when my world fell apart. You showed me how to love and how to forgive and forget. There was nothing in my life where you have left me yet. He said, "My child, I am with you no matter where you go. Even if it is to the depths of hell, or to the tops of mountains, showered with snow. Follow the white marble steps to the top of the stairs. When you reach the top, you will smell jasmine in the air. You will be in a place where there is no worries and no fears. There will be no sickness, and there will be no tears. You will see happiness and children playing. You know this place my child, to come here, is for what you have been praying." As I began to reach the top of the stairs, I turned and saw Him waving. He said, "You are in my Kingdom now and it is called Heaven." By Stephanie P. Roberson |
