"PERCHED UPON A WIRE" |
I know the simplicity you fail to see; Can it be a faithless blindness, Or do you choose to ignore what can be? I sense the dragons That rage deep within your breast; Helplessly I sit and watch As you battle fearful longing and anger at it's crest. Swift of wing I descend to enfold you with truth and light Let loose the blackened heart That entraps your will to fight The way is simple, say I What you fail to see is a path well worn; A million miles stretched out Waiting for you to walk upon it in any way or form There is darkness on the margins You must stay steady to course and route; Harm will only come to you Should you wander in and out Step lightkly, do go For hesitation fuels flame and fire Hurry on your way The heat upon the path is evidence of Satan's ire Away from darkness Yours steps grow swift and strong The more upon the path you travel The more you know for Whom you long As home you come near to be Simply ask His forgiveness of your sin His kingdom stands before you Father, Son and Holy Ghost await to bring you in I know not why that He chose I To bring the faith that rescues souls from fire I only know what I can see While I'm perched upon a wire.
