"THE GIFT" |
Raindrops glittering on the windshield on my way home from work, Hidden in the shadows a doubt begins to lurk. My heart is sullen and begins to yield, To the serpent tong the devil wields. Then from up above a light from the sky, Gave me strength yet made me cry. For within the light I saw a dreadful sight, I saw an innocent man upon the cross, My heart broke as I felt the loss. Father forgive them he began to pray, Then a flicker came to the ray. With that simple sight from God, In the word my feet were sod. For on that day a price was paid, So that my soul might be saved. I thank the Lord for giving me, That precious gift of Calvary. BY LESLIE BURGESS |
