Frigid Statues: NEWS

So I haven't updated this site in a long time...big freakin' deal.  Stop with the hate mail.  This isn't the official site.  I update this site more than typeonegative.net, so what do you all care?  My work on this site is done for the most part.  Let me tell you something:  About 5 years ago when I first made this site it was pretty cool.  Now technology has taken off and I haven't done jack with this site, but I let it live on.  Be happy there's some old-school shit out there that you all can refer to.  So you have to click the stupid ad button every page...so what?  If you don't like it, give me some money to get rid of it, like say, $10 per month.  Yeah, I thought so...

With that said, the only updates I offer you are this: Peter Steele is NOT dead, it was only a stupid joke (dare I say marketing ploy?  Oh of course not..it was their sense of humor.  Will we ever know the truth?)  The band is recording the new album, and Johnny is using a real kit for the recording!  Now, the news got better as I typed.
2/25/04  Well I got to see the band 2 times so far in support of Life Is Killing Me.  The first show was at the Roseland Theater, in Portland.  What a killer show.  My wife finally got to see the band that she's been listening to (unwillingly) for the last 10 years.  She really enjoyed herself, but remains firm that these places are not for her...

The second show, at the awesome Crystal Ballroom, also in Portland, was unique for me.  A friend of mine got me and my 2 friends into the dressing room during Moonspell's set.  Peter and Josh were both sick and stayed in the tour bus.  But Kenny and Johnny were there hanging out with us.  We drank a couple of their beers (didn't want to overdo it, ya know;) and had a blast.  Then Cradle of Filth came out and, well, let's say that the two band's don't mesh all that well.  But, I got to hang out for a few with 2 of them and they were so different than their on-stage persona.  But, I enjoyed their set and it was all a blast.

On a sad note, as I'm sure you've heard, Billy Kelly (Peter's bass tech) died earlier this month.  R.I.P.
7/29/3 Well to the disliking of many, the band's new album "Life Is Killing Me" only debuted at #39.  This sucks.  Not much to argue about considering the album leaked out 2 months prior.  I read negative reviews on the album with the critics using the unfinished versions of the songs.  So, in my opinion, because the album did leak out so soon, I believe that did affect the album sales.
In other news, the band is coming to Portland which is sweet.  I haven't seen them for about 3 years now becuase I live over here on the West Coast.  There sould be about 20 from my group.

See ya there.
4/13/03  Hello all.  First off, the name was changed from 'The Dream is Dead' to 'Life is Killing Me'.  Most of the reactions were negative, but I like it better, personally.  Second, the album has been leaked.  By whom, nobody knows.  I believe it was someone from RoadRunneR.  It may have been planned by them if my theory is true.  Why wouldn't it make sense since every song has watermarks in them?  Seems pretty odd that a fan would do this, but the recording company would so that people would still buy the album.  The band is extremely pissed off, as I would be.
In reaction to the leak, the band have decided to release one of the leaked tracks...straight from the watermarked cd.  The album's official released date is
JUNE 17, 2003.
Check out my personal band's website
HERE.
3/4/3  Well well.  Here I am updating this site.  Can't believe it either.  The band finally got the domain name from me (FOR FREE, I must add) of type-o-negative.com.  Try it out.  Although you know of this, the NASCAR track 'Highway Star' was released late last year.  You know of this as well, but so far the title of the new album will be 'The Dream is Dead'.  It's latest release date is June 03.  It's only been pushed back about 6 times, but supposively they are about done with recording and mixing.  Me?  I've been busy moving, still very active with the posting on the ole message board at ton.net.  If I get time, I'll update this from time to time.  I still get more hits than I thought I would after taking down the domain name and pulling it off of search engines.  Just remember to beware the lunar site!
4/20/2  Lots of news since the last update.  First off, the WWF track for Kane was not chosen for some odd reason (think MTV-like executives making the decision as to who was on it).  So, we will most likely get to hear it some day as a B-side or something...But the WWF cd has already been out for about a month.  Don't buy it!

Second: the NEW album will not be released in 'early 2002', obviously.  It has apparently been pushed back to about Halloween time, respectively, which will once again be 3 full years approximately since their last effort, World Coming Down.  I am not surprised, but am disappointed...I thought they would pull it off this time.

Next: The band has apparently recorded the song 'Highway Star' for a Nascar comp. cd.  Hopefully it won't turn out like the WWF drama and we might get to hear some new Type O music for fuck's sake!

And finally, I am in the process of giving the domain name of TYPE-O-NEGATIVE.COM to the band.  It's taken longer than I expected thus far.  The reason?  Time and interest is not as much as it used to be.  They should have it, anyways.  The address http://www.oocities.org/frigidstatue/ will still be active, and I will update from time to time if the stats stay up like they have been.  Feel free to ask any questions if you ant some info.
11/14/1  The tour is over.  All shows, according to Johnny, went very well (for more info and a tour journal view, visit the tour page @ TON.NET).  The band is now working on the new album again.  The last I heard, it will be released "in the spring".  So, as we wait for the beautiful new album entitled, "Yeah right...like I know"...I doubt they even know.  But we can look forward to the WWF track that they have redone entitled, "Out of the Fire" for the wrestler Kane.  I have not heard when it will be released.  It was supposed to be released last month, but that didn't happen.  So when I hear about it I'll put it here.  Site News: There is an update on the Fallout page...a minor correction that was brought to my attention about "why Peter is left handed, but plays a right handed bass" issue.  ENJOY
9/2/1  The band is, of course, planning on playing some shows on and near halloween.  I am going to fly across the country to see them this time since they so rudely skipped Oregon and Washington last tour;)  As soon as I know the dates, I will post them on the tour page.
8/11/1  This site is now officially TYPE-O-NEGATIVE.COM.  The addresses will vary since I am using a forwarding tool for both type-o-negative.com and geocities/frigidstatue/index.html...but both addresses work.
8/4/1  Well, if you haven't heard, the band have already postponed the release to next year.  They still haven't started recording the demos yet.  So we wait.
5/11/1 Well as you know the band is busy working on album #5.  Needless to say it usually takes them a while, but at least our favorite band isn't Tool! (if yours is, I apologize...speaking of which I've heard 5 songs from the new Tool album, and they are all good).  Anyways, they are way further than I thought they would be in the writing stage at this point...they apparently have 7 songs written, and are getting ready to record some demos!!!  Certainly good news indeed...If I hear anything more, I'll definitely put it here.  Just a note: I have a new e-mail address.  -E.L.
3/30/01 I just updated the site with a ton (no pun intended) of pictures and a little extra info that you won't notice.  But you will notice the pictures if you snoop a little.  I would like to thank some guy named rod for the dumb-ass comments you made in the guestbook...I was going to delete it, but it's just too funny.  Anytime somebody contradicts themselves like that in public is funny.  Peter isn't even married, btw! Anyways, if any of you get time, please sign it, and don't forget to make fun of Rod!!! -Lestat
3/3/01 Well, both Josh's and Johnny's babies were born.  Welcom to the world Rebecca Aliyah Silver (Feb 19, 01) and Sophia Paige Kelly (Jan 19, 01).
The members of the band have been working on the new album, although it is apparently a little too early to tell which direction it is headed...but remember that Peter did want it to be a little more hardcore...Ahh, yes!!!
12/26/00 Bloody Kisses finally went platinum this month (12/00)!  Bout damn time!
12/14/00 According to an e-mail from Johnny, the band will begin to record album #5 (studio album, that is:) after the holiday season/ and the babies' births.  Congrats to Josh and Johnny when the new babies are born!  Good work, and we all look forward to your next album.

The Carnivore re-releases scheduled for release on Jan 22 may have a small reunion tour for a few shows in the NY area ONLY (figures, huh?)!  I'll let you know when I hear more...
11/17/00 The Fall Tour has been extended to some West Coast shows...mostly in CA, and Arizona.  No Oregon or Washington shows, which totally sucks.  Now I know how the over-seas fans feel!!!  (Hi JG!)
10/17/00 As we are awaiting the Fall tour, and the Halloween release of the Least Worst of, the Tony Iommi solo album was released today.   'Just Say No To Love' is the track with Peter singing and playing bass with the guitar legend.  Get your copy today!

OCTOBER RUST
After nearly four years, the 1996 release finaly goes over the 500,000 landmark and has officially been declared, "GOLD".  It joins Bloody Kisses with the achievement.
8/00 The band is releasing a greatest hits album supposively called: The Least Worst Of Type O Negative.  Josh said it fits appropriately (the name).  It is scheduled to be released on Halloween (Oct. 31 just in case).
