In the beginning...

Where we met: Ulpan Etzion, a language school in Jerusalem where she learnt how to speak Hebrew and I tied my tongue in knots for 5 months.

The 1st meeting: In the lunch room over chicken pasta, I believe, it was hard, even for me to think food with her big blue eyes looking back at me.

1st date: A walk along the Tayelet (walkway) overlooking the old city of Jerusalem v.romantic until it poured with rain with us still several kilometers from home.

The proposal: We celebrated Stephanie's first surfing lesson with a big buffet breakfast (*tip - never propose on an empty stomach) at a restaurant situated on a cliff overlooking the coast. With my second helping finished and some soft piano being played next to us I proposed (sorry, no knee action involved).

Classic moment: Recently, I moved from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv for us to be closer to one another. I found a cheap room in a student flat that was coming to the end of its lease. Everyone moved out leaving me with the place to myself. That was great I thought to myself until the owner fearing the tenants were doing a runner with bills still to be paid locked me out and changed the locks. 3 days later he wasn't budging and I was still wearing the same clothes and getting frantic. Stephanie, with her typically cool head posed as prospective renter and got him to open up the door to let her in to see the place. At the same time I entered with 4 guys and claimed my stuff, he couldn't do a thing. What's more with her innocent look on full beam he never suspected he'd been duped.
