Mrs. Jones named Beachwood Elementary School's Teacher of the Year 2004!
Mrs. Jones has been a teacher at Beachwood Elementary School for the past 7 years. In that time, she has taken on many roles in the school, such as student council advisor and afterschool help class coordinator.
She invites career speakers to come to her class, and has hosted individuals from different occupations in the arts, sciences, the military, and even peace corp volunteers.
She also encourages community service though planning activities, such as visiting retirement homes to bring cheer to the residents.
Mrs. Jones has many fans. Her students love her and so do their parents. She encourages students to find information on their own. She teaches students how to utilize the latest technology available to them and also introduces them to the more standard library system. Learning from her classroom goes a lot farther than fifth grade!
She also coordinates special programs, such as a Veteran's Day program to expose the students to the meaning of the holiday and teach them about their country's history.
