The FTC left/right Policy
We know a guy that we occasionally ride with, that hates to ride alone and always wants to know where he's going and where he is.  We at FTC, find this appalling!  The left/right policy is nothing more, than seeing a road/intersection ahead, not having the faintest idea where it leads, and taking that road.  OneEye and Walrus love to play a little game.  When we go riding, Walrus gets to take the first turn (left or right), then OneEye leads and he takes the next turn, then it's Walrus' turn again, and so on and so on....  Any turn is allowed, whether it be a dead end street, a dirt road, an old lumber trail, anything goes.  In fact, on one occasion, OneEye and Walrus were leading a group of about 10 scooters and actually turned down someone's circular driveway and right back out the other side.  On occasion, this has gotten us very lost, which in case you haven't guessed is exactly the point.  Nothing is better than taking off on the scooters, not having a clue where you're heading and finding these wonderful country roads, with great twisties and beautiful scenery.  Then stumbling across a little run down bar or restaurant and whooping it up over our travels and trying to figure out where the hell we're at.  Of course eventually we have to find our way back, which so far hasn't been a problem, but if we drop out of existence, you'll know that we did a good job and are having a great time.  We encourage you to adopt this philosophy and just take a road, who really cares where it goes, it might be the best road you've ever been on in your life, and if not.  Perhaps the next turn will.
