Information:

King Ly Chee is a Indie band from Hong Kong. King Ly Chee, a name of a fruit, was used as their band name for nospecific reason but to give the band a taste of Hong Kong, allowing others to know that the band is actually fromHong Kong, a place where band sound is not very popular and accepted by locals. The band was established in 1999and this was when I first heard their music and realised that they were what I'd been looking for all my years! The band plays quite a wide range of music in which all are within my interests! They play hardcore, metal and punk and could be said to be a punk/hardcore/emo band. Although their vocal isn't chinese, they have been living in Hong Kong for like 20 or more year, hence they feel that Hong Kong is like their home. The coolest thing is that they band writes their own songs and sends out touching messages. The band really kicks ass and will definately become a " star " band within 2 years, although being famous isn't what their main goal is. So what is their main goal? Promoting band hardcore music ofcourse.

Music:

As you know, their first ever cd We Are Who We Are was financed all by themselves with their limited money, it would be best if you could buy your own copy. But I do promise that there will be music downloads here when they start to make money...yup, only until then.

Others:

Besides music, Riz, vocal of the band also publishes a monthly magazine ( usually with delays )called Start From Scratch ¥Ñ¹s¶}©l which promotes punk/hardcore/emo/metal music and skateboarding culture ( I prefer In Line Skating more though... ) in Hong Kong.

Places to buy the magazine : Phase 02, Evergreen, X-Game,Reliance Studio, Mono Studio, Tom Lee ( Tai Koo Shing), Hardcore, the Warehouse.

For overseas: Email to sfscratch@hotmail.com for more details.
