Hello my name is Julie Lawrence.
I reside in Wyoming, a native of this state; I've enjoyed the arts at a young age and have gone forward with art as my career. Cactus Arts Studio is located in downtown Casper where I display my furniture art and what ever else I've been painting or designing. As I always tell everyone if you see the lights on come on in and visit while I'm painting.
Art has always been a way of life for me; if I'm not designing a piece of furniture I'm probably painting a picture on canvas or designing on some type of surface. Whenever I get the chance I always like to experiment in some kind of art. I guess that is why I'm diversified in my education of the arts. I have degrees in Art, Photography, Theatre, and have studied Interior Design. My art styles range from abstract to whimsical and folk-art. My main medium is acrylic paint and occasionally using oil paints to get a more vibrant color in certain areas of my design. I love to add metals to most of my pieces. When I get done my furniture art is not only a painted piece but also a unique art piece. I never know when I start painting on a piece of furniture what design or style is going to emerge.
My one of kind pieces I try to keep unique in design, as I put my heart and soul and imagination and love into every art piece I do. Art is not just a subject it is my way of life and I enjoy having the opportunity to make people happy with my art. I have had one women shows and have done numerious art shows in Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota.
